Funny episode, especially considering the unconventional way they used Shawn in the episode.
The truth behind this episode is that James Roday went through a burst appendix last year. I remember that he was supposed to guest host an episode of WWE Raw with Dule Hill, but he was in the hospital. I can only imagine that this episode was being filmed during this period, or they just decided to use it on the show.

at Gus carrying around iPad Shawn. The scream Shawn let out when the coroner stuck him under the covers got the biggest laugh. Great episode.

Prison braids!
Too bad Kenan Thompson wasn't able to appear for whatever reason.
I can imagine USA making a new show with Thompson, Mekhi Pfifer and Jaleel White as Blackapella, traveling around, singing and solving murders. A show like that would fit with USA programming.

I was rolling every time lassiter referred to them as a different R & B Group.
"You, wind and fire.."
And laughed harder when they actually made a comment about it.
"He's eventually gonna run out of R &B group names right?"
Great episode and boy, I always love me some Kristy Swanson.

Hilarious episode and this was by far the best moments. Though the comments about black folks in horror film was pretty funny too.

I thought it looked like the girl from 'Deadly Friend' and 'The Chase', but she looked so young I thought it couldn't be.
It is her, Kristy Swanson. She looks like she's had complete facial reconstruction surgery now like many actresses, I guess to look young.

It's a reoccurring role. She was in an earlier episode where she helps steal blood for her sick brother. That's why she is in jail.
