As he tries to make it big in the acting world, itís becoming increasingly difficult to separate Kris Van Varenberg from his famous father.

After appearing in films such as The Quest and Derailed with Jean-Claude Van Damme, the actor is more than emulating the Belgian martial artistís work life, he also appears to be mirroring his body.

The 24-year-old showed off his bulky arms as he filmed on location yesterday.

His son isnít the only family member after a taste of his fame, 21-year-old Bianca Bree is also planning to step out into the spotlight with the film, due for release in 2013.

Making use of her fatherís industry links, the starlet made her film debut in the 2008 flick The Shepherd: Border Patrol where she played the daughter of Van Dammeís character Jacques Robideaux.

The 51-year-old's new offering sees him don a questionable look as he flaunts a large brown moustache and matching sideburns.

He's used to playing the tough guy in movies, so it may come as a surprise to him when onlookers laugh at his latest look.

He plays Storm Rothchild - an ex-marine team-building coach.

The story centres on a company retreat on a tropical island that goes terribly awry.

Jean-Claude no doubt gets the chance to show off some off his famous moves in his scenes.

The Belgian star - who will promote another of his films, The Expendables 2, later this year - will star alongside Adam Brody and Dennis Haysbert in the upcoming film.

Jean-Claude's Tom Selleck look is a far cry from the serious roles he has portrayed in movies such as Kickboxer and Sudden Death, but no doubt his hardcore fans will be pleased to see him on the big screen once again.

JCVD's had years of EXTREMELY hard living: drug abuse, sex addiction, alcohol abuse. It would be impossible with all that to say whether his face is due to all that or to HIV/AIDS/facial wasting. Rumors have been around for years that he's been HIV positive. Something aint right though.

Or he could be, you know...getting old.

Looks awful. He looks pretty good for a guy with the "hiv" though.

Never heard of Van Damme having HIV.Neither have I. His alcohol abuse was widely known but I didn't know he was in to hard drugs and stuff, too.

I hear the international working title was "Helldorado".

Based off that trailer I'm curious if they pulled a Deep Blue Sea and Van Damme's character gets killed by that tiger early in the film. I notice he doesn't appear in the 'Lord of the Flies' scenes as they all seemed to revolve around Adam Brody. If so, that was pretty stupid to spoil it in the trailer.

I do like the fact that he/they parody his classic scream. I saw Lionheart, Bloodsport, and maybe another of his famous "aaaaaaarghhhhhhsssss" in there.

If you want to see Van Damme doing a great job parodying himself, check out JCVD.

If you want to see Van Damme doing a great job parodying himself, check out JCVD.I saw JCVD at a small arthouse in San Francisco since it never had a wide release here. It was so bizarre seeing a Van Damme "film" (versus action movie) in a tiny, cramped theater full of people who were clearly seeing it for its limited release aspect, not just because it was Van Damme (like I was).

Very, very good movie though. I don't believe it's had a BD release in the States but might be available in Canada.

There is a US BD (I have it). But it does not have lossless audio.

This (http://www.amazon.com/JCVD-Blu-ray-Jean-Claude-Van-Damme/dp/B001PWY4NQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1388244958&sr=1-4&keywords=jcvd) is the one I have. JCVD was my #2 favorite film of that year. I saw it twice in theaters - once at the Nuart and the second time over in Hollywood at Mann's Chinese Theaters.

It did get a BD release here via Magnolia, which screwed it up with the lame subs and useless dubbing. I imported my copy from the UK and it's awesome.

It is region free. The special features are in PAL, so unless you have a region free player you'll only be able to watch the flick.

Maxflier

That's fine. I already have the US release so I imagine it would have those same special features anyway?

Thanks for clarifying the BD releases. For some reason I had thought there never was a US release. I've only seen it for sale at a B&M used record store and it had Canadian bilingual packaging.

Guess I'll import the UK BD since I already have the DVD.

To clarify, the US BD does have the original language audio. However, the language selections were labelled rather oddly so it was easy to accidentally pick the dub.

Really? I did not know that.

I remember I had read a review to that effect before I got the BD and they were right. I haven't watched my copy in a while but I recall that the language options make no sense. As I recall, you think you're selecting subtitles but you're really picking between the dub or the original language.

Just had a Van Damme double feature with Welcome to the Jungle and Enemies Closer. WttJ is a C-grade movie that is elevated whenever Van Damme is onscreen. There are a few laughs without him but the film feels dead in any scene from which he is absent. It's still watchable (because of Van Damme's hilarious performance) but it could/should have been so much better. EC fares much better. Once again, Van Damme is the highlight of the picture (the man was born to play manic, scenery chewing villains) but Orlando Jones and Tom Everett Scott do a fine job of carrying the film whenever Van Damme is absent. But JCVD's manic, enviromentalist, vegan, mercenary, drug dealer was all kinds of awesome and totally steals every scene he is in. Likewise, his loony performance as Storm Rothchild in WttJ just makes watching the film worthwhile. Heck, I'd love another/better flick with that exact same character once again in a prominent role. All in all, I had a great evening.

Watched this the other night and it is now in the running for worst movie of 2014. The comedy is nonexistent, the movie is ugly to look at, and there is not one character I could root for. Van Damme would be funny if he was given something to do. This movie is an offense to what people find funny. Terrible, terrible, terrible movie.
