I really liked this episode. Plenty of laughs and just enough story progression.

Wondering the same thing. I'm sure we will find out next week.

Good episode. Nice to see some growth in the characters.

Fixed...sadly.

Next new episode is on March 19th, as there are only 6 episodes left for the whole season.

That's what I was thinking. I kept saying to myself, "Doesn't he own a house?"

I was thinking the same thing as well, but wasn't sure if it was habitable yet. Or maybe he could go to the house in Long Island...

He's crashing with Barney?

They could probably wring a few storylines out of that.

For people who live up there, how long is the commute from Long Island to Manhattan?

To East Meadow, about 50-60 minutes on the train.

And based on what we've learned about McLarens it's on the upper west side of Manhattan. So throw in a 15 minute subway ride from Penn Station.

That's brutal...

So is Ted's house also in Long Island like Marshall and Lilly's? I don't remember.

yeah, you can't really do the whole "meet me at McLarens" anymore.

IIRC, Ted's house is in Westchester. Commute is probably shorter.

I kept thinking that as well, but would he really want to move out of the city? I thought the whole point of having the house was just to have it for when he was ready to settle down...

Has Ted done much work on his house?

I don't really remember it being mentioned much since he bought it.

I'm confused about DWSTROPA or whatever...did Marshall and Lily rent their apartment out? Sell it? Seems to me they spent too much on it and got a crappy mortgage so don't see how they have any $ to do anything frankly with a baby on the way. I know its not real, but its not 'fantasy' enough that I can forget real life I'm afraid.

Good question. I couldn't remember what they did with their other place in the city.

The downstairs neighbor bought it to expand his place. He made them a very good offer.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Karma" -- 2/27/12

The thing with this back-and-forth stuff between Ted and Robin is that we already know they end up still as good friends later in life, as indicated with the "Aunt Robin" stories to his kids. There really isn't any suspense to these types of storylines anymore; I suppose that's the downside to the type of storytelling format they use.

I'm more curious as to how Ted could afford the apartment by himself AND buy a house he has to remodel. But hey... it's television, right?

I'm more curious as to how HIMYM can get away with some of the lamest strip club scenes in the history of television.

That explains why he's a douchebag, not why he can afford a house and apartment.
