Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Humble Bundle for Android 2 has added the game Snuggle Truck:
http://mim.io/ad3372?fe=1&pact=8333376100
In Snuggle Truck, you must overcome treacherous terrain get your cargo of precious stuffed animals safely to the zoo.

As a bonus-to-the-bonus, Android users can also download the uncensored original: Smuggle Truck, the same game framed as an immigration satire, which was reportedly too spicy for some game marketplaces.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Indie developer Subsoap (Faerie Solitaire, Faerie Alchemy) is offering an "Infinity Bundle" of all their current and future games, on all platforms:
http://www.infinitybundle.com/

Right now there's only 1 finished game, Faerie Solitaire. However, you get access to builds of 3 games in development: Faerie Alchemy, Faerie Solitaire 2, and FaeSaga. And the site lists two additional "Secret Games" due out later this year.

To get the bundle, you have 3 options:
  • Pay at least $27 on the bundle site. You can pay more for your bundle if you wish, or purchase multiple bundles for gifts.
  • Donate $100 to a secular charity of your choice and send Subsoap the receipt.
  • If you previously bought a Subsoap game, you can get a copy of the bundle for free. See here for instructions:
    http://help.subsoap.com/customer/por...ed-in-the-past

That's an interesting twist. I'm going to donate anyway, might as well let Subsoap sponsor it.

If the games are great I'll donate more to them directly.

I just noticed that the exact wording on the site is to donate to the secular charity of your choice. I've fixed my last post.

Fixed mine as well.

I just bought the Humble Bundle Android II and Indie Gala 3 bundles. Think this makes 6 bundles I've bought since I gave up gaming for Lent.

That infinity bundle is kind of intriguing. What kind of games do they make? Adventure? Puzzle? From the titles they make me think of a Big Fish Games style game.

They're kinda all over the place.

Faerie Solitaire is a solitaire game with some fantasy adventure elements. Faerie Alchemy is a match 3 puzzle game, with a "fantasy adventure" mode on the way.

FaeSaga looks like it's to be a 2D adventure game in the vein of Secret of Mana, down to the 16-bit inspired art.

Secret Game #1 is described as "A card game that will give you nightmares..." and Secret Game #2 is "a puzzle game with a high fantasy story."

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Defense Grid was another I had been meaning to get on XBLA, but I wasn't sold on a tower game without a mouse, so the Royale bundle was pretty easy to grab.

^ ~30 games in the last few weeks isn't enough, so I'm in. Wish more (some?) went to charity, but even if only one game gives me an afternoon of entertainment it's worth a ten spot.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Indie Gala 3 has added more bonuses for those that beat the average:
http://mim.io/4d4c72?fe=1&pact=8532946724
IndieGala is the first bundle to support independent comic books!

IndieGala makes its third pay-what-you-want indie game bundle even bigger adding the independent comic book "Sonia the Cruel" the action racing game "Gear Grinder", and 4 magic music albums!

"Sonia The Cruel" is a tale about a band of mercenaries in distant lands, where they fight their enemies... and their inner fears. It is a tale about passion, revenge, hate and conspiracy! Check out the first chapter on indiegala.com!

"Gear Grinder" is the new incarnation of arcade racing action. Take full control of your powerful truck, mounted with the most deva-stating weapons available, malicious mines and more nifty gadgets, and complete over 45 versatile and thrilling missions!

"Viper EP" and "Remotion Vol.2" by F-777
"Chiptune Hero" by DJ Cutman
"All Night Party" By "Electric Children"
Are the 4 magic albums introduced in Gala 3.

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Groupees Be Mine 2 is up for pre-order:
http://groupees.com/bemine2

Every $2 paid = 1 meal to the hungry, in coordination with Feed Them with Music.

Pay a minimum $4 (2 meals) for:
  • Beat Hazard
  • The Baconing
  • Plain Sight
  • Madballs
  • Sol Survivor
  • Be Mine 2 Special EP

Pay a minimum $10 (5 meals) for the above plus:
  • Killing Floor
  • Eligh #BeMine compilation album
  • Unknown Special Item

I'm not sure what really separates this "pre-order" from the regular sale, since you know everything that's in the bundle except for the bonus items added later.

Metacritic Scores:

So they want you to pay at least $27 for Faery Solitaire 2 and the promise of more Faerie games down the pike? Wonder how well that's going to work out for them.

You also get instant access to Faerie Alchemy and Fae Saga. Both are "in dev," but Faerie Alchemy is on the iTunes App Store, so it's certainly playable. Although, you can play Faerie Alchemy for free on Newgrounds or Kongregate.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/593312

The developer appears to be trying to inspire consumer loyalty through generosity. For example, everyone who previously bought Faery Solitaire, even those that paid $1 from a Steam sale, got an infinity key for free. I guess they're hoping that those that download and play Faerie Alchemy for free will, if they like it, support them by buying the bundle.

I admire their efforts, but think I'm leaning towards Decker on this one.

Faerie Solitaire is fairly fun so far, but $27 seems like a lot to risk over what may end up being only a game or two.

And with my indie games currently averaging less than a buck a piece thanks to all these bundles, $27 just seems high.

If they had the bundle at minimum $5 for the next 2-3 games they design I'd be all in; or if I had a crystal ball and knew they'd be designing games I'd want to play for the next 12 years.....

Re: Ultimate Indie Bundle Thread - Humble, Royale, Gala, etc.

Here's some reviews of the Indie Royale Spring Bundle games.

First up, Metacritc scores:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/unstoppable-gorg
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/depths-of-peril
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/to...ical-adventure

The three from radiangames, Inferno+, Ballistic, and Slydris, don't have Metacritic scores. However, more basic versions of Inferno and Ballistic were released on Xbox, and here's reviews of those:
http://www.xblaratings.com/component...ames-ballistic
http://www.xblaratings.com/component...ngames-inferno

And additional reviews of the radiangames PC versions:
http://www.indiegamemag.com/slydris-...the-safe-slyd/
http://www.indiegamemag.com/inferno-...rolled-frenzy/
http://www.indiegamemag.com/ballisti...ced-mundanity/
http://www.vgrevolution.com/2012/01/slydris-review/

The radiangames developer has a blog post on why he decided to be in Indie Royale a second time (Super Crossfire was in the New Year's Bundle), and why he decided to include 3 games:
http://radiangames.com/blog/?p=1070

Tobe's Vertical Adventure developer Secret Base has two free spin-off Flash games:
http://www.mochigames.com/game/tobes-grand-escape/
http://www.secretbase.com.sg/tobes-hookshot-escape/

They also have two other free Flash games. First is a MegaMan inspired platformer, the other is an arcade zombie shooter:
http://www.secretbase.com.sg/galactic-commandos-2/
http://www.secretbase.com.sg/bitejacker/

Buying all the games separately on Desura would cost about $44:
http://www.desura.com/bundle/the-spring-bundle
