Rare OOP DVD Finds

There was a time when I would linger around the rareandoopdvds.com forums following what was hot (then subsequently going and tracking down said titles at my local pawn shops) to either put in my collection or flip for a small profit. Those forums seem to have died down in the past two years, so I figured that I'd make a thread here so that those of us that track down rare and oop dvd's can post our finds and sales (no specific numbers, just general ideas).

Here are mine:
- Star Wars Original Trilogy (slim case) Box Set
- WWF Wrestlemania 2000

Re: Rare OOP DVD Finds

That's interesting. Is that version of the Original Trilogy even valued by anyone? I thought most folks were going for the two-disc versions to get the original theatrical releases and then supplementing them with the original trilogy box bonus features disc.

The slim case trilogy contains original and special edition of the original trilogy.

Ah, thanks for educating me. I never knew they boxed those up.

Re: Rare OOP DVD Finds

I remember buying that Star Wars set right before it went crazy...I think. Are we talking about this one?

http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Tril...9172694&sr=1-3

I realized I had the fullscreen (gold case) ones and figured I had to have it "right", no idea what made me do it then though. Thank goodness I did. Now I wish I had the fullscreen ones too, but at least I gave them to family. That's OK.

So far as OOP, I always hope to luck into some copies of the OOP Hammers which (IMO) kind of stink (Scars, Horror of Frankenstein) but for some reason I feel I must have anyway. But I never see them.

Re: Rare OOP DVD Finds

I was doing a last-minute supply run last Christmas Day at Walgreens, and on their DVD rack I found a pristine The Third Man on Blu-Ray for only $9.99.

Re: Rare OOP DVD Finds

In the past month Bringing Out the Dead has been doubling and tripling in price. Pick it up while you can.
