I was just about to post this. I'm pretty excited for this news and it's now probably my most anticapted album of the year!!

Very cool. I may swing by his store and pick it up when it's released. Would be neat-o if Jack was there when I did.

The single sounds pretty good to me, Ive been a huge Jack White fan for years now so Im really excited for this album (one of my top 3 most anticipated albums). I would also love him to put out another Raconteurs album sometime while hes at it.

Awesome news. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Dead Weather but pretty much everything else he's been involved in has been top notch imho. I hope he recorded this guerilla style in two weeks ala White Stripes.

I, too, would love a new Raconteurs album.
I know I'm likely in the vast minority here, but I find it strange that they're calling this Jack White's "debut" album. I know... I know... it's his first solo album, and therefore his "debut," but that just seems like the wrong word to use. I mean, the guy has been putting out albums for 13 years.
Anyway, the single is pretty great. I can't wait to hear the rest!

Pre-ordered the single on 7" and am liking the song quite a bit so far! Really can't wait for this as it's been a long time coming. Hopefully a tour follows the album release!

Interesting article in The New York Times. Sounds like it wasn't Jack's idea to break up The White Stripes. Disappointing as I'd love to hear more of them together, but Jack's solo output (as well as The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather) I've heard thus far has been great too.

Can't read that article, but it was never in question that the White Stripes "broke up" because Meg just couldn't take the grind anymore.

I knew it was partly that but I always sort of thought Jack was just wanting to branch off on his own more too. This article though sounds like she basically just didn't want to do it anymore and wouldn't really give him much of a reason. The article is free by the way you just have to create an account. I guess I always knew Meg was a bit off but the way he describes her she sounds a little more odd than I thought.

I finally went to Third Man Records. Very cool little store. I had to be buzzed in. I wonder if the male voice on other end was Jack?
I picked up a couple of albums he produced: Wanda Jackson and a new all-gal band called The Black Belles. Also got a tee shirt and some stickers. They were playing his new album and from what I heard, it kicks butt!

Yeah definitley a great effort. It has a lot of consistency, which is what Icky Thump and the two Dead Weather records lacked imho.
