Another awesome episode of a highly underrated series. WTF People? Why do shows like 'CSI Old Folks Home' and 'Hawaii 5-O' get great ratings by catering to the lowest common dominator and a series like Southland gets overlooked?

Instant classic line right here, as spoken by Lumbly:
"We kick ass till we smell shit"
Hell.
Yeah.
Something about that is just the definition of a badass line.

Awesome 2nd episode.
I wish this show got more than 10 per season. I wish ratings were a little higher so TNT would give it 13-15. Oh well.
Sherman is getting a little cocky now. at him throwing the punch at the school girl after she spit on him.
at Tang directing the naked dude to run onto the freeway to let CHP take care of it.
when Tang and Coop went into the Porn shop with Dewey and pretty much the whole screen was blurred out.
Did anyone catch the little inside joke between Marla Gibbs and Regina King?
Marla Gibbs to Adams..."Hey Brenda, how you doing?"
If you grew up in the 80's and watched a certain NBC sitcom, you will get it.
Loved Carl Lumbly as the Captain. The McDonalds applications were great.

227!
I was a little kid when that was on but yeah, I remember. I immediately recognized Gibbs but didn't remember a thing about Regina King being on or the name Brenda.
So Dewey has a fat fetish...doesn't explain a damn thing but it's still something to add to the list of interesting things we know about him. He's a...he's a character, that one.
Bitch(es) deserved to get hit and shackled. This one's going to haunt Ben's ass. He'll be the next YouTube star and Tang will be off the hook

They are really bringing the humor out this season. There had been so much darkness last season, that it was easy to forget about this side of the show.
Loved the stuff with the new Captain, they really made Lumbly a bad ass.
"They're gonna need all the people they can get. The McRib is back"
How many shows can actually get away with having a man running down the street naked, and another running out of a porno shop while completely engulfed in flames? I don't mean in terms of being bold and daring, but in the sense that it seems plausible that the same cops would find come across both in the same day.
Then again I did live in L.A. so I have a slightly skewed perspective.
I had no idea that Brenda was a 227 reference, but that's a pretty damn funny. It is kinda sad the only work Marla Gibbs can get is playing a 93 year old.
C. Thomas Howell is always great here. The stuff with his love for BBWs was great. It was made even better by his talk basically grossing out Tang and Coop.

One of the most fun episodes of the series:
-- mini 227 reunion
-- "Every time you f*** up you fill out a line!" Enjoyed the show running away with the whole McD thing , even offering a kid turned snitch a happy meal.
-- Loved the chemistry between new cop and Cooper...from Pootie Tang to Wu-Tang

Some promising news. The season premiere viewership has increased to 2.4M with Live +3 and 1.1M in 18-49 demos. People are watching it, just not necessarily the same night or live. TNT does care about DVR playback and re-airs unlike the Big networks.

Because, I suspect for most of the nation's household's, there is still only familiarity with the big 4 network stations of CBS/ABC/NBC/Fox. I would think that this is why there was such a HUGE campaign to let people know about the switch to digital a few years back.

this show is so awesome. i really wish we'd get more than 10 episodes a season, but I have no doubts that the quality of this show is that much better because of it.
loved the captain pretending to be a preacher then blasting that old lady when she pulled the gun.

Good news, this was a Tweet from Stuart Levine from Variety a few days ago about episode 2:
Good news: 'Southland' week 2 ratings were up 23% compared to week 1 and up 32% compared to last season. .
