With the Dead LAST running attack and a defense with no linebackers for a number of weeks the Giants won 9 games and a Super Bowl. Try that with a run of the mill QB. They would have won 4 games if they were lucky. Without Eli, the Giants are probably 3rd or 4th in the NFC East. Yeah, he's that fucking good.

You say that like there was some sort of huge gap between 1st and 3rd in the NFL East this year. There was only one game separating the Giants and 3rd place.

Warner also has league 2 MVPs, none of which Eli has. I actually heard the comments Warner made on our local sports talk radio. I don't think I disagree. Let's let Eli finish his career before we start anointing him HOF material.

thats because Philly shit the bed early and Cowboys lost shitty games... read Vin's post again... there was no huge gap because without Eli, the Giants would have been dead last with a shit run game and a crap defense... think about it...

Hey, you know there's a HOF thread that this discussion can go into, right?

Anyway, Warner's in, I think Eli's in even if he retired today based on the 2 Superbowls and the 2 Superbowl MVPs, but certainly the rest of his career will solidify it.

He said third or fourth. If they're third without Eli, that could be as little as a drop of one game.

I agree somewhat, but two SB MVP's is a step in the right direction.

Plus his last name is Manning and he played on the East coast. He'd have to finish pretty poorly from this point not to get in. I can hear his dad or his brother giving the intro speech right now, "Ahh shucks, he's just great!"
