Random fact: I know the guy who introduced Paul Rudd at the beginning. I cast him in a commercial a few years ago and he and I have a lot of the same actor friends. He got that job after only a month or two in LA. Pretty cool.

April and Andy are the most inspired pairing. They are better with each other than they ever were apart. I think the eye exam was the highlight

I don't normally post in the episode threads for Parks and Rec, but I thought everything really clicked last night.

I started choking on my Chipotle when Andy threw the ball at the wall and it came back to hit him in the head. Absolutely hilarious.

In my opinion, Andy is almost always the funniest part of any episode. Although, back when he was dating Ann, I don't remember him being quite as much of a hapless (but hilarious) nitwit as he has become over the last few seasons. It seems hard to believe that Ann (who seems pretty sharp) would have ever hooked up with Andy if he were that generally clueless.

Easily the best parts of the episode. I especially loved their scene with Ann Perkins in the beginning:

April: Hey Ann, are you still a nurse or did they fire you because you slept with all the doctors?
Ann: You wanna try that again?
April: Hey Ann, are you still a nurse? Because Andy's not feeling well.
Ann: What's wrong Andy?
Andy: Just got a headache and I'm seeing double and I got a song stuck in my head and my teeth hurt. Also I'm hungry.
Ann: Okay, well, some of those things are symptoms and some of them are just being a person. Did you hit your head?
Andy: No. Oh, yes. Technically I did smash my head area into the wall area.
April: Yeah, he was hanging up his gold record.
Andy: [Sneezes and bangs head into wall]
April: Oh my God, are you okay?
Andy: Yeah, I'm good. Point is I have a gold record.
Ann: Well I can help you with the cuts and bruises but the other stuff you're gonna have to see a real doctor.
April: Hey, smartass, we can't afford it.
Ann: Hey, smartass, yes, you can. You have insurance.
Andy: Neither of your asses are that smart because insurance if for if something bad happens to your car. P.S. I haven't had it in years.
Ann: Oh, my God, we used to live together.
Andy: Awww, you still got it for me.

She doesn't seem too sharp when it comes to guys. After dating Rob Lowe's character(not dumb but extremely quirky) she didn't understand what she saw in him. Then she realized "oh yeah" when he was being extremely complimentary towards her.

I imagine Paul Rudd improvised, "Ugh, it's not padded!", when he slumped back on the couch and hit his head on the wall while having his tizzy in the restaurant waiting area.

This is my favorite show on TV, but I prefer Andy and April in only small doses.

Also, I'm disappointed at the direction of the Paul Rudd role, seems not all that compelling. I would have rather he played it more straight.

I actually didn't like Rudd's role at first, but considering he plays the same exact character in every movie he is in, I actually like the change of pace.

Chris: "Ron Swanson! How are you?"
Ron: "Present."

Andy: "I once ate a Twix with the wrapper still on it, and I've never seen the wrapper come out."

Chris Pratt just killed it this episode.

That's because they changed Andy's character.

When he was with Ann he was dumb, but since they broke them up - he's become a complete loveable idiot. They wanted to pair April and Andy up, so they aged April by about 2 years in a matter of episodes and Andy became more stupid, immature and unable to take care of himself. This was their way of making Andy and April appear closer in age than their characters were initially - which was close to 10 years apart if I recall.

I love the Andy character as he is now, as it works within the dynamics of the show. But it's obvious the writers did some tinkering to make things work the way they are. Just like how Leslie's character is very different from the first season to the second. It happens on most shows.

He is a great guy IMHO. He does just about anything anyone asks him to do be it movie or TV. I have to say I always expected great things from him after Clueless, but he has upped his game in the sense that he seems to choose his roles wisely. Of course, I have NO idea what his options truly ARE for roles, but I'm in whenever he is on board.

+1 Both characters have become my favorites. Together like in this episode, they are unstoppable for bringing the funny... and the romantic (Andy's bucket list) since they are the only married couple right now.

It's amazing the women guys can pick up when they are in a band.
