I wouldn't say the characters are annoying, but I don't find myself laughing near as much as I did the previous two seasons. I don't know if it's because I'm now so familiar with the characters, or if it's because the writing isn't as crisp. Still, any episode where Phil is speaking on stage is going to be a little fun. :P

I loved Phil's look to the camera that was a mixture of confusion and anger while he was embrassing Gloria.

I kind of feel the same way, though I wouldn't put it as strongly. I can't put my finger on it but the show just doesn't feel as good as it used to. However, every episode still has some great jokes that redeem the show to me. I loved Claire and Alex's negotiations and Alex's suggestion to get a mirror.

I don't think the show was ever as hilarious as some people remember, but I still find redeeming qualities. I think the show was always a little cliche, but maybe it's more noticeable now. I still do find it enjoyable though. It's a nice break from the uncomfortably awkward moments that comedy seems focused on since the Office.

Episode was okay, have liked most of the season though.

"All my dad wanted was for me to throw a ball in the backyard. Which I did once. But he did not attend" - I busted out laughing at that. Such a perfect setup and delivery.
I thought this was another solid episode. I'm glad that Phil didn't suddenly "rise to the occasion" when the girls didn't make it back in time. It just completely failed. Thought that was a nice touch.

Episode was okay.
I did get a few laughs out of Phil's presentation and everyone struggling to find the ticket for the free mouse pad. Where the hell did Haley put it?
That was nice to see Phil and Gloria bond.
at Cam singing "If you leave me now" which caused the Baby Mama to change her mind.
Even when the show doesn't have alot of LOL moments, the theme of the show is family and there are always warm moments.

This episode had some good jokes, but it probably was a little weaker probably because the most dominant character trait was on display for everyone. Gloria was the loud, fiery Latina. Claire was hypercompetitive. Mitch and Cam sang Elton John. Alex was the brainy middle sister, smugly so.
I think the show works best when you see another facet which this episode did a weaker job of doing.

Alright episode.
The show will be in trouble when Manny and Luke get older and their shenanigans won't be as funny/cute as they once were. The show needs to use Alex more, her comments are always funny.

They're going to have to transition to "teenage boy shenanigans", which should give them plenty of material since teenage boys are capable of very stupid things.

Luke is dumb yet cunning and Manny is a fat kid with an old romantic soul. Those things are funny at their young age, but when they become teenagers - it's not cute anymore... and they'll just become regular teenagers you see on every other sitcom.

Cam and Mitchell are getting way, way, way too predictable. My wife and I were calling out their next acts before they happened. Getting a little stale this season I think.
