Goddamnit.
With the fucking verbal beating the film is taking on every social network, I'll be shocked if the film does more than $7-8 million on Saturday. I honestly can't seeing it double it's Friday gross through Saturday and Sunday based upon the wretched word of mouth its getting.
Seriously. I've sat through a lot of shit and I haven't experienced anything as bad as The Devil Inside since at least The Master of Disguise.

EXCLUSIVE: Paramount could have another Paranormal Activity mega-profit project in theaters today. That found footage exorcism pic The Devil Inside acquired for $1M opened with $2M midnights from 1,400 theaters. It goes wide into 2,300 theaters today. Funny enough Steven Schneider from the Paranormal Activity team is exec producer on this pic as well. The genre film plays very young and very ethnic so it will probably be frontloaded. But it’s rare for a studio to recoup its cost from just the midnight shows.

And, as you can tell, I'm a moron who thinks he has a time machine.
Can we get a mod to fix that 11 to a 12?

I have to say I love the thread title.
I remember when there was a box office thread that stated "Humanity is dead" because one of the 'Twilight' movies broke some record and I thought, THIS should be a real newspaper headline.
Love it.

CinemaScore reported The Devil Inside received an F from the audiences it polled.
Most films on CinemaScore receive a C+ or above. For a film to go for the gold and get an F, well, that's a true testament for how ill received the flick is. And despite all that, could make $25 - $30 million. God help us.

Paramount sure has one motherfucker of a marketing team. They acquired this turd for around $1m bucks, advertised on the cheap and they were in the black after the midnight showings alone.

I was considering going to see The Devil Inside until I saw all the Horrible reviews stream in.
The ads made it look genuinely scary. I'm not surprised that it made a good chunk of money before word of mouth spread. Afterward? not so much.

Who was saying Dragon Tattoo wouldn't even reach $90 million worldwide?
For all the doom and gloom about underperforming movies around the holidays, it seems like a lot of movies are slowly creeping up in box office take.

I went to see "Young Adult" Friday night and there were long lines for "The Devil Inside". One would've thought it was a new Star Wars film opening that night. My friend and I were shocked.

Re:
One cool thing seeing The Devil Inside is... the first time in a movie a cool scene where a baby getting baptized, choked and drowned in a Christian Catholic Holy Water Font and inside a Roman Catholic Church by an ordained priest- WTF???
EDIT:
Oh, and the cool real time menstrual bleeding during exorcism :P

Sucks for you as Tintin was not only a very entertaining film, but also visually stunning (especially in IMAX 3D).
I already knew about the baptism scene as Paramount leaked it weeks ago, however, it plays out in the film borderline retarded (the family just allowed the priest to leave?).
The real time menstrual bleeding scene also came off borderline retarded too. I asked my wife during that scene, "Am I a horror film or a tampon commercial?" It wasn't creepy or effective, it's just there to be there (and probably secure, amongst other reasons, an R rating unlike the Paranormal Activity films that could be PG-13 if you eliminate the swearing).

That's right, I'm sure they're kicking Steven out of his office(s) as we speak.
True, it's too bad they aren't doing better business domestically, but they are still well received films critically and internationally (war horse has yet to open) and any studio would be a fool to cut ties with Spielberg.
