Need Quick Understanding for Xbox 360 Setup in HT

Thinking about picking up a xbox with the kinect for my kid.

The unit would be behind me in a closet (16ft) with my other HT equipment and the kinect sensor 16ft in front of us. I understand that I would need a passive usb extender for that but what about the controllers?

I have a wii system and never had any issues.

how far are going to be seated from the Xbox? 16 ft? is your room 32 ft long?

Anyway, the range of the wireless controller is suppose to be 30 ft, so if you are 16 ft away from the console you should be fine.

how far are going to be seated from the Xbox? 16 ft? - it will be 16ft behind me. Do I need to worry about line of sight?

No, you should be fine with the controllers.

I have no idea if running a long cable hurts the Kinect though.
