Those are fun pictures but for me the only thing missing are the pinball machines and the glass counter with 'smoking paraphernalia.'

How do you know it's a crappy beer if you have never tried it:question:

Okay, I guess I need to explain the joke. You left the L out of "Schlitz" and made it "Schitz". Crappy beer? Schitz? Get it?

Thanks for the pics! Been a fan since 83 when 1984 came out. I know...sounds like a spinal tap moment but its true and I'm 39. Never have seen those pics before and got a nice smile out of those. Those guys were just hitting it big then and I couldn't even it appreciate it. Back in the day when there were record stores. :(

I hate that Mike isn't with them, he's the background voice that is signature VH. But at least he's got a good thing going with Chickenfoot. Looking forward to some new music. I just hope it's good and a little old school rock. Fingers crossed.

Eddie, the whole problem in that band as he is narcissistic and childish, pouted up when Mike went on a short tour with Sammy when he was asked to after Sammy left the band, when Eddie pouted up over something with Sammy. Mike has discussed it in interviews.

So Eddie swore Mike would never be back, kind of like he did with DLR.

Van Halen (complete with David Lee Roth) plays New York gig, announces tour dates (http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2012/01/van-halen-complete-with-david-lee-roth-plays-new-york-gig-announces-tour-dates.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter)

It was just like old times on Thursday (Jan. 5) at New York club Cafe Wah? when a reconstituted Van Halen kicked off their 2012 arena tour with an intimate show, original frontman David Lee Roth and a set chock full of classics.

"Last time I stood on a stage this low, we had to have the car back by midnight, man!" said Roth from the stage.

The band ripped through a set including hits like "You Really Got Me," "Panama," Jump" and "Every Wants Some," reports Billboard.com. They also played one new song ("She's the Woman") from their upcoming new studio album, "A Different Kind of Truth."

There was one change to the line-up, though -- bassist Michael Anthony who was booted from the band in 2006 was replaced by Eddie Van Halen's 20-year-old son, Wolfgang. Roth, too, struck a different tone with a new look that we like to call "Dust-bowl newsie": He rocked a pair of brown overalls, a light cotton scarf and a jaunty tweed cap.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Jan. 10. The full list of dates and venues follows below:

No, The Who. Actually that would be a pretty cool song for them to cover.

The reported "new song" was actually a track off their original demo album that was produced by Gene Simmons. Rumor is they've reworked it for inclusion on the new album.

No kidding. Who thought this was a good idea? Kool & the Gang and Van Halen is like oil and water. They should have at least got some one that is a rock band.
