Hi everyone,

Going to be going on our first vacation with my iPhone 4s.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding a back-up battery that attaches (easily) to the phone so we don't have to continue to plug it in while out?

Where are you going, what are you doing?

I'm away from home most of the time. I have two things that I always take that keeps my iPhone all good with no hassle,

1. Rental car kit; Lighter plug FM transmitter, cheap AC vent mount, line in cord.

Yea, the FM transmitter is sort of hit or miss depending on the city. But that is why I have the line in cord. And AC vent mount is awesome. They are universal, cheap and work surprisingly well. This with the line in cord for the radio works awesome for listening to music, using the TOMTOM app, etc.

I got this on sale for like $40 and works fantastic. Plenty loud for any hotel room for listening to music. Very portable. Works with Pandora (net radio) and charges the phone. I don't get the negative reviews, it works great for me and had about 6 months now.

We'll be visiting some theme parks and could possibly be out 12-14 hours in a day with no charge. To make matters worse, I'd like to use the phone as my only camera while out; so I'm guessing it will get sucked dry.

No outlet at the theme parks?

You can also turn off iCloud and anything else you don't need to save juice

Not in very many spots (especially not that are convenient).

You can also turn off data if not needed to save battery.

How about something like this? Never actually used one but it looks intriguing.

I found some units with good reviews. One has 1800 mAh the other has 2000. The price difference is $15. Would it be worth it for the extra $15?

I have a APC battery that has a standard size USB port and a mini one, that can power and recharge anything that takes those connections. Works great...

The juice pack is a case unto itself. It's thick as hell and protects the phone just fine.

I'm not sure if there is a good external battery for the iPhone 4S, but you could probably buy the Motorola Universal Dual-Charging Portable Power Pack and combine it with this adapter (http://www.gizmag.com/apple-iphone-micro-usb-adapter/20094/)...that is my plan at least (I already owned the power pack).
