Did anybody hear about this 2 for 1 (Ides of March/Moneyball)?

I was looking at Fandango for my local theater, and it turns out that they are doing a 2 for 1 (or....a double feature) with Ides of March and Moneyball (both Columbia releases). I just googled it and it looks like this is a national thing. I'm definitely interested, but I haven't seen this type of thing rolled out before aside from the Toy Story 1/2, and the 5/10 movie things for Best Picture near Oscar season.

Funny, just noticed this same thing in my newspaper listing. I really would have been interested in this if I hadn't seen Moneyball last month.

Indeed, a lot of places are doing this. The beginning of December is a slow week for releases (stuff trailing off Thanksgiving, and a bit too early for big awards pushes), so Sony is rereleasing both films to make a bit more scratch and increase both films' exposure in time for nominations. A fine play; Ides of March may not have been a home run - but it gets on base.

I'm definitely interested, as I haven't seen either and have spare time tomorrow.

AMC has it too, so I expect most chains are running it.

Damn, been eons since I've seen Columbia do this. I saw Men In Black and Air Force One together during a promo just like this back in '97 or '98 at a Regal Cinema.

Yup, Regal is where I'm going for this.

Edit: SOLD OUT? Wow, did not expect that for a 2 p.m. on a Saturday. Bought tickets for tonight and getting there early this time.

I noticed this at the Regals around here. They should offer double features more often. The last time I actually saw something like this was at a theater near where I grew up in TN. One weekend, they were showing October Sky and then EDtv after that. And then a couple years later, it was Die Another Day and something else. But both were 2/1 options.

And no, to this day, I still don't know why I sat through EDtv.
