I found out on the local news tonight after the show that Jimmy Buffet was playing a character from a novel that he wrote back in 1993. Or at least the characters share the same name and both are pilots.
As for the episode itself, it was nice to see a resolution to the mole storyline.

giving the out come of past ep I pretty much expected McGarrett to escape, then have to double back and single handily rescue the entire team that had gone in to save him in the first place..

I thought it was epic. I thought it reached "24" level of awesomeness. Though, some would say that jumped the shark as well.
But whatever, I really, really, really enjoyed this episode.

How can a show that jumps a shark every week jump the shark? This whole show is about jumping sharks.
That's why the analogy doesn't work. Happy Days was outrageous because it went from a small sitcom about kids in the 50's to Fonzi jumping a fricken shark.

I always thought of jumping the shark as the peak of a show - the apex. Fonzie jumping a shark - perfect example. That was Happy Days at its best. Or maybe it was the one where Fonzie saved the kids from the gangsters and The Claw.

Okay, the episode was pretty jam packed and kind of predictable, but I don't get the whole Jump the Shark argument?
So what was the problem with the 5-O team going to North Korea to rescue Steve from Wo Fat, who's been the recurring bad guy all season?
There was alot of kick ass action in this episode and lots of guns blazing. Plus, it wouldn't be complete with Steve getting tortured and electrocuted by Wo Fat. I guess Steve, Danno and Chin should spend more time eating Shrimp rice plates at Kamekona's lunch truck and stop bank robberies huh?
If you like action, then this episode should have satisfied that.
Sucks what happened to Jenna, but she was a stupid bitch to trust Wo Fat.
Go Chin!!!

I thought that was a pretty bad ass episode. Wo Fat is one of the best villians on TV !
This show is supposed to be a glamour action show
Don't try and analyze it too much

bridge blows up and wo fat isn't even concerned "we'll go back the way we came"
I like how the duece and a halfs they likely got from the local national guard base still had the coalition identification Vs on the doors. at least put north korean stars or something on the doors
