Enjoyed Castle, Ryan and Esposito working together in Atlantic City.

Funny seeing Richard Burgi on this as well. He's been a recurring character on Chuck.

Esposito: "What, Elvis can't be brown? Call me Elvez" Liked the guys dressed up as Elvis.

Okay serious question here, has anyone noticed the change in Beckett's appearance the last few weeks? Beckett went from dressing and looking like a super model cop to looking pretty ordinary. The hairstyle is different and she's wearing alot more frumpier/ordinary clothes.

You mean Captain. And why because she's such a cold hard ass and not likeable and easy going like Montgomery? I don't mind her. If your going to cast another Captain, they needed someone who is the polar opposite of Montgomery and not a clone. If you ever saw Penny Johnson Jerald on 24, she's so good playing this type of character.

LOL that's why no one likes her. Everyone remembers her on 24 and its just "bitch transference".

Jerald played a nice character on DS9 but her character here and on 24 were just nasty. I think she warmed a bit in this episode though.

Cellar Door

I never watched 24, so I'm not judging based on that. It just seems like with her character the writing is so transparent. Her sole purpose has been to manufacture conflict for Beckett. And, yeah, she's an unlikable bitch. You say the actress is good at playing that type of character, but I don't find her very convincing and, in any event, the problem is that I don't really find that type of character entertaining. I'm not saying it has to be all shiny and happy relationships between all the characters, but the new captain has been pretty one-dimensional so far.

I've never seen the actress prior to her run on Castle. I don't make the mistake of projecting characters onto actors either. She does a fine job of playing the character, I just don't like the character. If Castle took place in the real world, the captain's reaction is entirely believable. However, Castle is fiction, and far more fun that way.

The captain seemed kinder and gentler in this episode - I hope we see more of that.

Pretty much agree, the tough guy/gay, but with a heart of gold is the type they need here. Maybe like Van Buren from L&O type.
