DVD Talk review of 'Neighbors'
I read Kurt Dahlke's DVD review of Neighbors at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=53121 and...I agree with you about the soundtrack. When the movie tested badly they removed the original soundtrack by Tom Scott and replaced it with a score by Bill Conti, who had to score it at the last minute. I'm guessing they told him to make it silly. Some reviews called it the worst score of the year and it does hurt the film. It's too bad the DVD didn't offer an option to listen to either score. I'm sure it would have been an improvement. To me it just sounds like someone has a TV set playing cartoons very LOUDLY through the whole film.

I should have counted the times I found myself wondering how much better (or weirder) a scene would have been with a different score ...
Damn test-screening audiences!
