expensive vinyl

I had no idea a mono copy fetches this kind of money now

Anyone know of other LPs worth over a grand?

The Beatles: Yesterday and Today with the "butcher" cover fetches a pretty big price. I can't think of any more right now but I know of a few more that I'm spacing on right now.

Re: expensive vinyl

To be fair, both of those eBay auctions are for LPs in pristine condition...new or rarely-played. A worn-out copy would probably sell for much less.

Re: expensive vinyl

Joy Division's first EP "An Ideal for Living" goes for big bucks if unplayed or rarely played. Around $750 to $1000. It was an extremely small pressing and the sleave was like hand photocopied and folded or something.

Re: expensive vinyl

I know a lot of deep soul singles would fetch thousands of dollars. One of the reasons the Keb Darge compilations drew so much ire from collectors: now "normal" people could listen to the same music.

An Iron Maiden DJ-only Japanese promo record of "2 Minutes to Midnight" just sold on ebay for $3000.
