Dream House

Maybe I am blind or something, but have not seen a thread started about it. Would love to know what people thought of the film.

Re: Dream House

The trailer gave away everything. No need to see it.

Re: Dream House

I hate jump scares. I was gonna devote a thread to it but thought otherwise. Absolutely hate them.

Re: Dream House

I was going to see this tonight. then I saw some reviews and viewer ratings and decided to pass. A shame because Jim Sheridan's first 5 films are fantastic.

Re: Dream House

Saw this today. It was alright, nothing special.

The trailer does give away the main point of the movie, but that happens about 45 minutes in. So, its not quite the big twist you might think. Instead, from that point, it kind of veers off into something of a mystery flick. Also, there was really only one jump scare that I caught and that was shown in the trailer as well.

Re: Dream House

I heard that Craig and Weisz hated it so bad at a screening that they're not even promoting it. Is that correct?

Wonder why they hated it. Glad I didn't pay TOO much attention to the trailer as I really enjoyed it. I guess I could see had someone seen the trailer and knew what was happening, there really is no reason to see it.

Google the reason why they hated it. There are many articles. Apparently the studio kept pressuring Sheridan on doing a movie their way. He resisted. And finally took over. From what little I read, the entire cast was unhappy so no one has done any press for the film. Sheridan included. Who is a stellar director.

Re: Dream House

And Arnofsky one unlucky one. Seems like they're on good terms though..so I guess that's still good.

Re: Dream House

i just don't get why people are hating on this. Sure, the story has been done before, but the twists and turns are good. The acting is bearable. There's a lot more worse crap out there than this.
