Looks interesting...kind of worried of a few elements like Neeson using broken bottles as bladed knuckles...BUT the premise is very interesting to me. We don't see too many movies like this..so it's nice to see one...with Neeson especially.

In The Grey, Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out.

I love The Edge and survivalist type movies. I'll catch this during a matinee.

Def sounds like a total rip of The Edge, but I liked that movie, and I like Neeson, so I'll prob watch this on HBO.

If it involves men surviving in the wilderness it must be a ripoff of The Edge.

This might be one of those rare January releases I will actually see in theaters. I read on IMDB that Michael Biehn was considered for a role. Too bad he wasn't cast.

I like man vs. wilderness movies, but this one looks a little silly with over-the-top evil wolves.

That being said, I'll give it a try when it reaches Redbox.

Re: The Grey (Dir: Carnahan) Liam Neeson and a group of men vs. Alaskan wilderness

As we all know, wolves are evil, bloodthirsty killers. According to Wikipedia (which isn't always correct but is at least a guideline) 10 people have been killed by wolves in North America since 1900, 3 of which were killed by their pet wolves.

So that makes 7 dead people from wild wolves in the last 110 years. And there was even some question about some of those 7...there was evidence that suggested bears rather than wolves.

Ha ha. No. So 7 dead people and 3 dead morons. Actually 6 dead morons if you count the ones that were killed by their pet wolves.

According to Michael Scott, more people have died by rabies than wolves then... the movie should be based on rabies.

I really liked Narc... but the only other thing I enjoyed was his BMW mini-film Ticker.
