I read Ian Jane's DVD review of Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen Collector's Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=49618 and...

felt the need to clarify on a few factors regarding the audio track. When I saw this at the Toronto International Film Festival, it was also shown in Mandarin and as director Andrew Lau himself has stated, this movie is meant to be seen in Mandarin since Shanghai is a place dominated by Mandarin and Shanghainese dialect speaking people. It wouldn't realistically make alot of sense if people spoke in Cantonese. However, there is a Cantonese dub on the Hong Kong import bluray disc featuring the voices of Donnie Yen, Anthony Wong and Shu Qi but everyone else is dubbed by someone else. If only Mainland China's censorship rules aren't so strict (they demand that everyone featured in a movie to be speaking in perfect standard Mandarin in which case, most of these Hong Kong actors can't pull off. Hence the need for voice actors replacing their voices), we'd probably get their own voices in the Mandarin version of this movie.

It's a shame that Well Go chose not to include the Cantonese dub or even Chinese subtitles for that matter but it is still a solid release and applaudable for them to release it so soon after the Hong Kong release. (Plus, Well Go's cover looks much better than the Hong Kong bluray cover)
