i have the 27" fs12 wega, and i love the 16x9 mode, i use it on all my dvds and video games cuz i learned to hate those interlaced lines. question is would a progressive scan player improve the picture anymore so over a similar non-progressive scan player or do you need an hdtv ready tv to take advantage of the player???

you need a TV with a Component Progressive Scan input. In other words, an HD ready tv that can display progressive video formats.
