Though I wasn't entirely surprised how it played out
I so love that this show is willing to mix it up like that.
Loved Jack acting like such a girl when Rex was being taken away.
And on a slightly unrelated note, it was refreshing to see a military camp scene that wasn't desaturated and brown.

I should have been tipped off when Rex mentioned the walls were ceramic, but I'll admit I was surprised at what the module was for and what happened to Vera.
I wonder if Jack completely misread Oswald or if perhaps Oswald will have a change of heart and help them later.

In general I'm still liking "Miracle Day," but there are a lot of things that bug me. My main gripes are Rex and Esther, and to some degree Dr. Juarez. Esther couldn't be any more bland if they tried, and Rex isn't too bright either. The second they showed the modules it was obvious what they were, given that they had propane tanks and smoke stacks on them. And just think, if Rex had bothered to walk around the module rather than just beat on the door he would have found the guy at the control panel.
Juarez wasn't any too bright mouthing off and threatening the guy running the camp given that she was more or less under cover and had no backup. Know when it's safe for you to pick a fight, lady.
In general I'd like more Jack and Gwen and less of the new characters, especially if they're going to write the new characters as stupid.

So, watched the first 3 1/2 episodes last night.
Um, nothing's really happened.
God I hope there's more in episode 5.

I agree. The Torchwood team really hasn't done anything significant as far as investigating what's going on. They've really just rented an apartment together and hung out at the beach.
In this episode they at least start to hint at what's going on, and some of the Torchwood fan boards have some intriguing ideas. But if anything is going to happen, Jack and Gwen need to start digging into Phicorp rather than worrying about what Danes is up to.
And by the way, could they have found a bigger, more obvious camcorder for Rex to smuggle into the camp? He couldn't use a cellphone? At least they could have stopped at Best Buy on the way and picked up a Flipcam on clearance.

Thus far, I hope Rex and Esther die in the next episode so we can just have Jack and Gwen.

I can't wait for the next episode where Vera is spouting off scathing one-liners from an urn.

Happy Torchwood!
I did know something was up once Rex noted the walls, but I didn't expect that. Pretty brutal for the Doc! I thought she was going to be the new Owen.
Didn't much care for Gwen back in Whales.
