Just thought I'd share my experience recently ordering from Barnes and Noble during their Criterion 50% off sale. My order arrived in 6 business days, which is extremely fast for shipping from the US to Canada. The fact they charged me GST bypassed any duty charges.

Overall, I was very impressed with their service. They don't charge bogus fees like Amazon.com to ship to Canada, and order don't take 3-4 weeks to arrive like I've had at Deep Discount. B&N's prices aren't always the lowest, but I'd highly recommended anyone from Canada to place an order from them when they hold a sale such as the Criterion one.

On the flip side I needed a last minute gift and found a nice edition of a board game a nephew wanted on B&N online. It was listed as in stock, so I ordered it and paid for express shipping. I needed it in 4 days, but I wanted to make sure I gave myself enough time in case of any problems. After 3 days it still had not shipped, so the night before I needed it I went to cancel it online. I was told it couldn't be cancelled it was getting ready to ship. I was mad, but at least it was going to ship. 2 days later it still hadn't shipped. I then called up customer service who told me they would cancel the order for me and it wouldn't ship. 2 Days later it ships and not even via express like I paid. I get it 3 days later and refuse shipment and dispute the charge on my credit card. Never again with them.
