No, DeKnight was asked that and he said he's retired from the role. When McIntyre signed on, I believe he signed a 5-year contract (if the show were to go that long)

Starz just renewed Spartacus for a 3rd season before season 2 has even aired yet. Wow, now I'm even more fired up for what season 2 has in store.

I don't have Starz, nor will I purchase just to watch this, even tho I absolutely loved S1 and its prequel. I am still in a little bit of shock that Andy Whitfield is gone.

I really hope this season makes a transition to following Crixus and.or Gannicus, provided Liam McIntyre isn't up to snuff.

Either way, I'm incredibly stoked for the proper follow-up and equally devastated knowing Andy will never be apart of the series again.

It's not as if Andy Whitfield was some great actor. I'm sure this guy will be just as good in the role. And Gods of the Arena was just as entertaining even without Spartacus.

Premieres 1/27 in case anyone missed it at the end of the preview.
