Dreamworks' THE HELP
Have any of you already read Stockett's book?
I listened to the audio version back in Christmas of '09 on a long drive to Texas for sixteen hours straight. So worth the experience!
And then I just had the pleasure of seeing an advanced screening of it this past week and I highly recommend it to people who love feel good movies with messages. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves comedy, too!
Octavia Spencer is a hilarious scene-stealer, and of course Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain and Allison Janney all put in their usual solid performances.
You'll laugh, you'll cry...and my fingers are crossed this won't get overlooked by the Oscars, because the script and direction themselves are phenomenal.

Re: Dreamworks' THE HELP
I think it'll get good reviews. For a book that purposefully drifts by like a warm Southern summer day, I was curious as to how they would pace the movie, but it moves along nicely. Not too fast, but just right. The full two hours go by quick...but you still feel like you've visited the South on a warm summer day.
