I've stuck by this show from the start. Yea it went downhill a bit...but I still always enjoyed it. But 15 minutes into this episode and... what....the...fuck....

"You want to de-blimp? Sit next to your mother, that should put things into perspective"
I thought this was a funny episode (especially the scenes at the hospital). The only "bad" part was when the youngest daughter had her rant, that looked like some really bad acting..

the hospital stuff was great. the other stuff, not so much. what was the deal with holding Garrity back from the fire?

I feel this doing exactly what The Sopranos did in its final season... waste time on stupid subplots that don't need to be introduced in a final season. Why are spending half an episode on Colleen? Do we really need to see Tommy looking for tampons? Come on... And the scene with all the girls attacking him...it was just atrocious. Focus on 9/11 anniversary stuff more. Focus on Franco patching things with his daughter or settling down. Focus on Tommy seriously trying to fix his family. Theres so many storylines they started in the first 3 to 4 season that they can revisit and tie together but nooooooooo. Lets show some annoying blonde crying.

I think the acting was terrible because some of the material was terrible. All the hospital stuff, great. Classic Rescue Me. But all the females on the same cycle, wolfing down chocolate. That's just bad sitcom material.
