7-Eleven plans to celebrate its 84th birthday Monday by giving away free 7.11-ounce Slurpee drinks all day. It is estimated the convenience chain will serve five million of the frozen carbonated drinks in participating stores across the United States and Canada.

I can't remember the last time I've even seen a 7-Eleven store. Just checked on their website and I've got one 130 miles away. I still hold a fond childhood memory of riding my bike to the local 7-eleven.

Better start pedaling!

I have 33 stores within a 10 mile radius. Going to do the circuit and take a slurpee bath.

Trevor, when I first read "better start pedaling".. I thought it was because you were going to drink 33 slurpies... and the flood waters would be rising.. lol

I almost forgot and went on my work break and got there at 10 something and they had a sign that the promotion ended at 7p. I'm like really I drove 10 minutes from work and no slurpee? So he's like yeah sorry so I turn around to leave and he says hold on and gives it to me anyway.

No idea the lite ones were 20 calories per 8 oz, it was VERY tasty and I plan to use them as treats now and then :)

This reminds me of my slurpee story.

My mom drove our school bus and at the end of the run each day would treat my sister and I to a slurpee. There was an expensive Micronaut that I wanted, the Astro Station, but it was nowhere near my birthday or Christmas. I convinced her that the cost of the toy was 40 days worth of slurpees, and that I would forego the daily treat if she bought me the toy. She relented after my detailed statistical analysis, and started the slurpees again after a couple weeks. Love you Mom!

I used to only be able to hit like two 7-11 stores on previous July 11ths to get my free slurpees.
However within the last year, the Wilson Farms stores in the area were converted to 7-11 stores
so that added more potential stores to get the free slurpees at. I had the day off yesterday so
I decided to do a slurpee-athon run. I went to the four local 7-11 stores in town between 11:00
am and 12:00 pm (I did some other shopping during that hours - it wouldn't take me that long to
go to those four 7-11 stores - probably 30 mins) and then two more more 7-11 stores in the next
town - between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm - which were on the way to myself attending a local sports
event here in the area.
