Breakfast at Tiffany's -- 9/20/11
From Blu-ray.com--
Let the Mickey Rooney "jokes" commence! It's a pity they couldn't have commissioned a new commentary track from a film historian - the Shepard track is pretty unilluminating.
This September, Paramount Pictures will release the 50th Anniversary Edition of Blake Edwards' Breakfast at Tiffany's on Blu-ray. In her most iconic film performance, Audrey Hepburn (Charade) stars as Holly Golightly, a spirited New York socialite who befriends an impressionable young writer (George Peppard, TV's "The A-Team").
The Blu-ray presents the film in a brand new digital restoration for 1080p with both 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks and a restored monaural Dolby Digital track. The disc also includes over 90 minutes of bonus features, such as:
Commentary by producer Richard Shepherd
A Golightly Gathering featurette
Henry Mancini: More Than Music featurette
Mr. Yunioshi: An Asian Perspective featurette
The Making of a Classic featurette
It's So Audrey: A Style Icon featurette
Behind the Gates: The Tour featurette
Brilliance in a Blue Box featurette
Audrey's Letter to Tiffany featurette
Photo Galleries: The Movie, Production, Publicity
Original Theatrical Trailer
The 50th Anniversary Edition of Breakfast at Tiffany's streets on September 20th.

The restoration is down right beautiful, it had its 50th anniversary premiere at the chinese theatre back in April as part of TCM film festival. With Julie Andrews introducing the film.
cant wait to own it.

“Mr. Yunioshi: An Asian Perspective” finds several members of the Asian community commenting on the treatment of Asians not only in this film but during the entire history of Hollywood up to the time of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The featurette lasts 17 ½ minutes.

The new restoration was premiered here in Hollywood in 4K projection as part of TCM back in April(with a special introduction by Blake Edwards wife Julie Andrews), it looks absolutely stunning, dont be so quick to judge just based on screen caps the movie looks and sounds amazing.

It almost is like we are talking about two different transfers here.

Their was also an in depth discussion about the work that went into restoring it after the screening as well.
The restoration was screened in a handful of theatres in limited cities through out the country this summer as well, I am sure others before now would have made comments if there was a loss of detail and waxy skin
I put my faith in my eyes over a reviewer i dont know.

Well i know what my eyes saw on the giant 80ft screen it was shown on in 4K on the Barco 4K projector.
Their was also an in depth discussion about the work that went into restoring it after the screening as well.

What I am wondering is if the version you saw in the theater is the same version being put onto Blu-Ray. If there was any additional work done (DNR, EE, etc.) to the print that is reflective of the Blu-Ray version/transfer coming out.
