Disney releasing MODs: Disney Generations Collection
Disney is now releasing some MODs through their new Disney Generations Collection program available through Amazon.com and Disneydvd.com. The first three releases are Amy, Goldrush, and Student Exchange. I hope this program allows for some of their stalled cartoon series releases to be finished as well.

This is exciting news. I'd be thrilled if they used this to release Disneyland/Wonderful World of Color/Wonderful World of Disney/etc content, or the Not Quite Human trilogy.

I'll keep on eye on it to see if any classic content gets released. I have to admit I've never heard of any of these titles thus far.

Disney, the one company that speaks out against bootlegging more than anyone else, is now releasing its own bootlegs!!

Hmmm...here's hoping they release the remaining season and a half of Gargoyles that they never released!

Could only find a German version of this, but basically it says all bootlegs are bad because they have crappy resolution and the color gets misaligned. Are their DVD-Rs gonna use magic fairy dust or something??

As always, not thrilled about made-on-demand as opposed to genuine discs. However, if released, I'll take Tiger Town & Little Spies. Maybe Disney's Halloween Treat.

I'm still astounded that a company like Shout! can release a niche show like MST3K and (apparently) make a profit, yet big hitters like Disney can't do regular pressed discs for their incredible catalog of work.
(Not a MST3K dig, I'm a fan, but I'm well aware that the fanbase cannot be that big).

MICKEY MOD!
I agree with milo bloom. I don't understand why it's all of a sudden a problem with making a profit with pressed discs. I can't believe it's that much of a difference in cost. Oh, well, my loss. I'm happy for all those that will scarf up some interesting titles. At least, i hope they'll be some interesting titles. Not really liking the first three.

Just because they are DVD-R's doesn't make them bootlegs. Bootlegs are product that are unlicensed and unauthorized. Disney owns these films so they are definitely not bootlegs.

Oh hey, $20 for an inferior product. There's a real surprise. The least these studios could do with these MOD releases is charge $10, but somehow they've all agreed on a $20 price point. They must be making a killing on these releases, since they can't cost that much to produce.

Yeah, I'd love to see Gargoyles, DuckTales, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, and Gummi Bears finished through this program. I'd also like to see them release the Aladdin tv series for the first time.

They should do B.R.A.T. Patrol, the 3 Zenon movies, Earth Star Voyager, and Fuzzbucket. I'd love to see an unedited Christmas Toy with the Kermit scenes put back in.

I think Disney may be able to hold the line a bit better if they choose since they keep tighter reins on their releases than the others.
