Game of Thrones, if they play any reruns (or if On Demand is available for you with DTV).

These free previews always reaffirm why I don't subscribe to the premiums. I pored through four days worth of programming on half a billion channels and came up with only a handful of things to DVR.

because 4 days worth of programming is really going to give you the opportunity to see what's available.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised VOD isn't available in full...so no catching up on Game of Thrones for me.

I had them all for three months and didn't see much reason to keep any of them, aside from HBO. So I didn't.

They usually offer 2-for-1s for 3 mo promos so I usually flip-flop between the SHO/STZ combo and HBO/MAX combo. I'm on SHO/STZ now and my promo is done at the start of the July, so that times out well for a flip to HBO/MAX since Entourage starts back up next month.

However with P&T Bullshit and Secret Diary of a Call Girt no longer running, I'll have little reason for SHO again (just Californication).

showtime has a ton of great shows. i don't watch any of the starz shows, but they also have some quality programming.

None of the premium channels have good shows year round, IMHO. For example, I don't see a reason to have Showtime until Dexter comes back.

The only Showtime program I think is any good is United States of Tara, and they canceled it. The rest of them are various levels of terrible.

HBO comes closest. Right now there's Treme, and when that wraps up, we'll have CYE coming back.

For Comcast, HBO/Starz are connected together. Sparticus/Camelot are on Starz so I should check those out.

You are right, they don't, but for us, HBO has for me, Game of Thones and Boardwalk Empire, and for the Wife, True Blood., so we have programming through out the year.

Plus I just saw something about a new Documentary series starting on HBO this month, looks pretty good honestly. Kinded look to be the format of ESPN's 30 for 30.

Plus HBO has the HBOGO thing (For some subscribers), with access to tons of HBO programming.

I'd recommend DVRing - Game of Thrones, How to Die in Oregon (excellent documentary), Bobby Fischer Against the World (another doc. showing how batshit crazy Bobby became over time.)

It's every Monday - it started this past Monday with Bobby Fischer Against the World.

Pretty sure it's available On Demand, HBO isn't in the business of commercials so they have nothing to lose by having it On Demand (it actually counts toward their ratings.)

Uhhh, Starz has Spartacus (although season 2 isn't until early 2012), Camelot (I know it's getting really mixed thoughts here) and Torchwood next month.

Starz just started production on the 1950's period drama Magic City with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Danny Huston.

Starz is very early in developing and producing original programming, but they are putting out some quality stuff.

Showtime is good for at least Fall and Spring.

This Fall:

Dexter/Homeland/House of Lies

Spring:

Californication/Episodes/Shameless

I only started with HBO this Spring because of Game of Thrones, but their level of quality scripted programs is amazing and especially it's year round.

Spring/Summer:

Game of Thrones
Treme
True Blood
Entourage
Curb your Enthusiasm

Fall:

Hung
Boardwalk Empire
Luck (new Michael Mann/David Milch series)
Eastbound and Down

And not forgetting their documentaries like HBO Sports docs, Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, which airs once a month and miniseries.

I know not everyone here has cable/satellite, but if your willing to pay for it, there is good quality scripted/documentary programs on these premium channels. Sometimes not necessarily year around.

Did Hung get moved to the Fall? It was True Blood, Hung, Entourage last Summer and Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death and Eastbound and Down in the Fall.

I'm okay if it did get moved, I'm not a fan of the show but watch True Blood and Entourage so it was kind of the unwelcome intermission.

Yes, Hung got moved to the Fall and corrected myself that Eastbound and Down is also in the Fall.
