Your top movie past 10 years?
Just curious as to what everyone top movie for the past decade has been. I have seen some great ones, but the one that easily makes my #1 is the 2008 Japanese film "Departures". If you haven't seen this one, you are truly missing out on great cinema. Reminded me of how a great story, and great acting can so eloquently convey emotions. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but the ending scene is so beautifully sweet and touching, if you don't cry, I think one should check their pulse. Everything about this film worked...story, acting, music...everything. One of the greatest movies I have ever seen in my life, and I've seen quite a few gems.

So many great films but I'll go with Lost in Translation.

Atonement or Amelie
Hard to choose between them. Both had themes that resonated quite a bit with me.

My personal favorite is Lord Of The Rings.
I'm surprised Pitch Black would make someone's #1 list. It really was an excellent movie and I'm glad someone thinks enough of it to call it their #1. We've watched that movie at least 3 times since we've been married and it doesn't get old. My wife had watched Chronicles Of Riddick (but not Pitch Black) before we got married and didn't like it, couldn't follow what was going on because she had no background on who Riddick was. After we watched Pitch Black, Chronicles Of Riddick made perfect sense to her and she was able to enjoy it. -kd5-

I love a LOT of movies from the last ten years, but for the sake of this thread, I guess I'll pick INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.
