FUNimation's twitter account. And plus Char from FUNimation has noted on the last ANNCast that a DVD/BD combo survey was forthcoming from Lance.

Great to see a company actually asking for feedback on something like this.

But I'm not going to answer as we buy anime so sporadically I don't want my choices throwing off the results.

Don't questions 1 and 2 contradict each other, if you want a rigid blu-ray-sized box? There's no option in question 2 to have the DVD in a Blu-ray case.

The Ga-rei-zero dvd-sized case did annoy me...

Same here--I'm not a heavy-enough buyer to want to steer the conversation.

I suppose we're so beaten down from years of just making do (or buying stuff like the Paul Champagne metal boxes) that we don't know what to say when we do get the chance to answer.

And I've re-read the questions a dozen times since you asked chrisc31, and I still don't know. I guess the only thing I care about would be some sort of consistency within a series.

I probably do have preferences, but I'm not that hugely concerned about packaging. The survey does have options for low purchasers, though, so I guess they do care. Heck, they probably don't get a ton of responses on something like this so they'd appreciate any info they get.

Re: FUNimation DVD+Blu-ray Combo Release Preferences Survey

You know, since they do give the option for buying amounts, I'm going to take this and trust that they'll properly weight my answers vs somebody that buys a dozen titles a month.

My answers:

1
* What size do you prefer for the collectible rigid box?

Blu-ray sized rigid box that will hold standard Blu-ray cases, and the DVD discs will be placed in clear Blu-ray cases.

2
* How would you like the DVD and Blu-ray to be packaged?
Use a DVD case for the DVD discs and a DVD case for the Blu-ray discs. (cases will fit snug in box)

3
* Which option would you be most likely to purchase, collect and display?
Make the collectible rigid box for the Part 1 release wider so that it fits both Parts 1 and 2. (Part 1 with a collectible rigid box that contains DVD and Blu-ray dics for Part 1 and has room to fit both DVD and Blu-ray discs from Part 2.)

4
* Do you own a Blu-ray player or a PS3?
Yes

5
* How many ANIME DVD/Blu-ray series do you purchase a year?

4

6
* How long have you been collecting Anime DVD/Blu-rays?

Over 5 years

7
* Age

35+

8
* Gender
Male

9
* Have you attended an anime convention in the past year?

No

My biggest preference would be that the packaging be consistent over the course of a series.
