I thought this was ok and the funeral part was very moving. I found the Weekend at Bernie's reference to be funny in the way Jesse St.Douche said it.
I hope Terri doesn't come back next season.

That was like 15 straight minutes of solos. It was terrible.
The Funeral was great, though I wonder when Sue will flip flop back to trying to destroy the Glee club.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do with the Sue character. I think they overdid her Wile E. Coyote addiction to destroying the Glee club this season and - in a way - I'd like to see it end. It just feels played out and they've taken it to such ridiculous extremes that I think they've run out of road on that theme. The problem is I don't know what else they can do with that character. I suppose they could keep Will on Broadway for awhile, and have Sue legitimately take over Glee until he gets back, but they've already sort of went down that road a few times.

Yeah - the singing part of the show was definately filler, I'm sure there was more production time put into the NYC episode for next week.
The funeral was touching.

This show is ridiculous. Last week, Sue was torturing a student in a wheelchair with dental equipment, an activity that would not just get her fired, it would make national news and result in long jail time. This week, she's magically back to "nice Sue" because her sister died. Simply flopping a character back and forth between good and evil is not the same as writing a three-dimension, nuanced role.

funeral was very moving and I cried a lot.
The biggest problem I had with this episode was Santana's song. (and she is one of my favorite singers) She sang Back to Black as a flirty song. REALLY? Did she even read the lyrics? Do they give her songs to sing and not even try to make her understand them? Landslide is "perfect" to tell you about how I feel about my lesbian love for you. What?! ugh

Good story with Sue but they changed her in the Christmas episode only have her back to her bitchy sell the next week. Hopefully they move forward with her now. Doing the same thing each week with her was getting really boring.

My hope is that they do something different with her character. I have no faith that they will.

There is one thing I do like about this show. I enjoy how the writers incorporate message forum criticism into the show. Becky noting that most of the Glee club can't sing was the latest example.

- Sue won't have to go back to being mean... she was mean this episode. The way they're writing her isn't working, but they don't need to abandon her as antagonist. What they need is to make her an antagonist rooted more in reality, and not ignore her past. She should not be hell-bent on destroying Glee club. Rather, she should just dislike it because of its affect on Cheerios attention and funding, and occasionally undermine and perhaps sabotage it.
- More characters die? I'm not a fan of death in TV shows, especially one like this. They don't need to go there for drama. They also don't need to go there to keep it fresh since they're on record as saying they'll let upper classmen graduate and bring in new students each season. Of course we don't know which grade Mercedes and Rachel were initally in, but I suspect the show would have a really difficult time letting them go.
- Back to Black is singularly responsible for me knowing who Amy Winehouse is as an artist (as opposed to just seeing her in tabloid headlines). I find that song haunting. I had no idea the edited version said, "kept your lips wet" (or whatever).
- I still like the singing, and I loved Rachel doing Barbra circa Funny Girl. The only thing that would make it better is her mom showing up again and doing it.

Finally getting around to watching my backlog of episodes. I was a pretty vocal critic pre-Super Bowl and they seemed to turn the show around, but now it's just running on steam. The show needs an overhaul next season.
Sue is the biggest problem. What was cute and a source of laughs the first season(an notably one of TVs most memorable characters of late) has just become a tired crutch in season 2. They've run her character into the ground, however, she was mildly better/tolerable this episode. Despite that, all the emotions rang hollow because of the ridiculous extremes they've taken her character. I shouldn't be sitting there watching the funeral scene wondering if it's all a big scam to keep the Glee kids from practicing.
