The Shield - Season 1 Question..
So I'm rewatching The Shield again and I just watched the episode where Vic busts in on Tomas and Julian doing the nasty to serve a warrant to Tomas..

This is HUGE as it's how Vic gets Julian to change his statement to IAD.. The problem is how the hell did Vic know Julian was even going to be there? There was no mention of this knowledge previously..

Am I missing how he knew this or is it just VERY sloppy writing?

It's been awhile since i've watched season one but i thought Julian came out to danni. Danni was sleeping with Vic at the time and told him?

Or i remember there was a scene when Julian pulled Tomas aside at the station and was whispering to him. Vic saw this and put two and two together.

Julian definitely didn't come out to Danni before Vic busted in on them...

I also don't remember Vic seeing Julian and Tomas in the station..

I just watched the season again about a month ago and this is right. He is a pretty good detective after all.

Pretty good?

The show goes out of its way over 7 seasons to show that Vic is nothing less than an evil mastermind.

I agree but people tend to overlook that he is actually a good cop when he isn't being evil.

(By "good" I mean good at the job, not white hat good)

One of the creators (I believe Shawn Ryan) said that realistically, a storyline like that would not get resolved for a person over the course of one or two years (which was approx the remainder of the series). He also said that since Julien was not as focused as the strike team's storyline was getting more time, that the storyline would not get enough focus. He said they acknowledged the uncertainty in Julien's future when in the finale, Julien looked at a gay couple walking down the street.
