Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Cameron is relishing his role as interim music director at Luke and Manny's school, and he's taking on the upcoming spring musical performance with a little too much zest and fervor. Meanwhile, Jay's brother, Tommy, is in town for a visit, and their relentless brotherly ribbing goes a little too far; and Phil convinces the family to be in his new realty ad, but when he goes as far as to wrap the family minivan in the ad, the results are unexpected.

"Did the Marlboro Man have any regrets?"

Loved Mitchell having to step out so he could say what he wanted to Cam

"We love the F Word"

"Does the carpet match the drapes?"

"I'll go home with anyone". "That's what it should have said on the side of the van"

Funniest episode yet of the best comedy on TV right now!

An incredibly well-written episode! Cam's line about Sondheimizing the kids (can't recall the line!) had me rolling!

"I Can't Be Satisfied" on the side of the van with Claire's picture.

Gloria: "Where I come from, brothers respect each other."
Jay: "That's why Colombia's such a peaceful utopia."

Phil: "I guess I'll be seeing you weekends and every other Wednesdays."

This show is hilarious. I still think a lot of the storylines are Three's Company-like in nature--largely built upon misunderstandings, but that's not a complaint. They pull it off very well.

Hilarious from beginning to end.

Phil: "You want both? I guess you could flip one."

All around great episode. Everyone was on their game tonight. But the exchange at the end with Haley and Alex was definitely the funniest part of the episode.

Haley: "It doesn't matter. I'll go home with anyone!"
Alex: "That's what it should say on the van."

The van part had me rolling. Phil answering the phone not understanding was classic. Very fun. the guy that played Jay's brother has been a character actor for years but he looked really old last night

"I guess I'll be seeing you on Wednesdays and every other weekend'" was probably the line of the season.

That's Jonathan Banks. He was great as Frank McPike on Wiseguy. I think his biggest movie role was in Beverly Hills Cop. Also, he's had a great recurring role on AMC's Breaking Bad.

Ed O'Neil is actually older than him by about a year. Not sure which one was supposed to be older on the show.

I assume Ed O'Neil is the older brother since when Don's bicycle got stolen, Jay put the kid's head in the ice. That's an older brother thing to do.

I can't hear no more!

BTW, if the sign company really did just apply that van wrap earlier in the day, Phil could have gotten it off just fine.

You just knew that the kids holding the letters would lead to a mishap, yet it was still funny. The show somehow takes predictable sitcom tropes and makes them funny again.

I've loved this show since the pilot, but goddamn this episode just took it to a whole new level. When they revealed the sides of the car, I was lucky I wasn't drinking anything, otherwise I would have soaked my computer.

Re: Modern Family -- "The Musical Man" -- 4/13/11

Taking me a little while to get caught up on shows because of the Stanley Cup playoffs, but finally got to see this. Holy crap, this was hilarious!

The van/lines that followed were hilarious, the Haley ACT scores scene was perfect (Alex is such as smart ass; it's great!), but I think the lines that got me the most were Cam's "Sondheimized" line and Mitch's "Bob Fusse". (And Cam's "wet dreams" line, "I heard it as soon as I said it. Just leave it alone." was hilarious too.)
