Good grief. Does anyone who dies on this show actually stay dead?

I was laughing right from the beginning. The part where Casey and Morgan were mirroring each others moves was great

Chuck sitting at the kitchen table reading Game of Thrones!!!!!!!!!!! Specifically the direwolf scene. He was yelling at Eddard! Best. Thing. Ever. Thank you, Chuck writers!

Watch the Chuck crew bring that video to the San Diego Con panel this year and Jeffster will complain!

Re: Chuck -- "Chuck Versus Family Volkoff" -- 4/11/11

I enjoyed last night's episode.

It was a nice twist with the daughter doing the setup on Alexi Volkoff rather than the other way around which is the way they had me going. It seemed that all the sniper shots were a way to draw her into the family business, but it ended up her pulling the strings.

Just saw the prelim. ratings, and they were not good. Looks like I'm gonna have to enjoy these last few episodes...barring a miracle.

Yeah, I'm really not liking the chances of Chuck being renewed this year.

Leading into [Law&Order: LA] was Chuck (1.3/4), which also didn't help its renewal chances by slipping 13% from its most recent original March 21 to a series low.

To be fair, every network was down in the ratings this week.

The comments are right on. Having breaks like this then going commercial and logo heavy is making the network serials less attractive and harder to keep track of new episodes

I liked the episode, but this isn't the time to tanking in the ratings department. Yikes.

Loved the CH video with YS. I don't really see her as a comedic actress, but that video was great.

You know, Chuck is one of my top 3 shows and the break even killed it for me. I just couldn't get into this episode.

This season seems like it has gone on forever with Chuck. I think this episode will be my last and I have watched every episode from the beginning, but the writers have pushed the plot in a direction that has grown increasingly predictable and boring. There is a reason the ratings are dropping.

I might fast forward through the episodes, just to see any important plot points. But the show is getting harder and harder for me to watch anymore. The only thing that still works for me are Chuck and Sara on the show.

Personally, I liked "Family Volkoff" -- although I was fully expecting not to -- and it felt more like a return to what I dug in the first two seasons. Generally, though...yeah, I feel the same way. I watch Chuck completely out of routine, and a lot of the time, the idea of tuning in feels like homework...like, "ugh, I guess I could watch this...", about as much fun as pulling weeds or folding laundry or whatever.

At least with this episode, the writers addressed the needy/whiny Chuck that's gotten to be such a nuisance.

Chuck has just gotten so stale that you could just scribble down plot points on scraps of paper and fish them out of a bowl. Chuck loses control of the Intersect, someone else builds an Intersect, someone invades Castle, a likeable one-off character from the first two seasons returns for fan service, Chuck's sad because he's written down prospective names for his first fourteen children and has picked out a silver anniversary present but Sarah isn't even looking past the wedding, family drama from eighteen years ago resurfaces, someone who's long-dead left something else behind for Chuck or someone in his extended family to discover, Ellie's in the dark about some aspect of Chuck's life, characters who have nothing to do with anything (Big Mike, Jeff/Lester, etc.) are given laughless, pointless, completely disconnected B-plots because I guess they're still under contract or whatever, Chuck himself as a character seems completely stagnant and is kind of the worst thing about a show named after him... It's just not fun anymore. The writers are in a routine, just trying to get through each episode. Even at its very best, the show's always been uneven, so I'm used to that, but it's especially shaky now. I don't think I'd say Chuck is aggressively bad or anything, but I do find it boring and not worth talking about. On all the forums/recap sites I read, the number of comments for each episode has fallen off a cliff, so I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.

Yeah, Chuck is becoming a chore to watch. They need to end it, but be given the opportunity to send it off right.

Re: Chuck -- "Chuck Versus Family Volkoff" -- 4/11/11

^^ Agreed. But every time I think they need to end it, they pull a scene out like Chuck proposing to Sarah in the hospital and they pull me back in. Unfortunately, those scenese are too few and far between and the rest is predictable filler.

More than a few times I've predicted what a character is going to say in response to something and my daughter looks at me amazed ... I tell her "I should write this stuff".
