Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Jews displaced by the Spanish Inquisition receive a welcome in Rome---for a price. Meanwhile, the pope contemplates a marriage of political expedience for Lucrezia; Cesare sends Micheletto to Naples to assassinate Cardinal Della Rovere; and young Juan is given the task of killing a Turkish prince, which would help the Borgias replenish their seriously depleted coffers.

Finished episode 1 and 2 just now. It was a little tough to get through and honestly I didn't love it. I actually like Camelot alot more, but I'm intrigued by the premise about the Borgias family. Alot of it felt like a 14th Century Soap Opera. Rodrigo is a scum bag for being the new Pope. The costumes and set design are really good and I like the cast, so I will continue to watch (probably not right away though). I'll try to catch this episode tomorrow night.

^ Yeah, same here. I like Camelot better. Irons is great in this though so I'll likely stick with it through the season (only 9 episodes anyway). It's not appointment television for me though.

I never said The Borgias was bad. Don't jump the gun with my statement. I've watched 3 episodes of Camelot so far and I enjoyed the action/pacing alot better than these 1st 2 episodes. I also like the supporting characters on Camelot. The Borgias was a little bit of a chore to get through since it was more soap opera storytelling to start, but it's a short season and I like Jeremy Irons and Joanne Whalley and I think it has potential to get more interesting. Even the reviewer Alan Sepinwall said he preferred Camelot more. Thanks for visiting, you can go back and unpause your Tron: Legacy Blu-Ray.

I haven't gotten it yet. You should know by now that I'm waiting for the German Steelbook.

Yea this show isnt the best thing ever and I LOVE everyhting historical. I think the biggest failure of this show is Irons now seems like he doesnt want to be pope. Like hes bothered now and its a burden. I expected him to be ruthless and tyrannical. THey should have gone that route.

Not a good way to go -- a botched poisoning followed up by suffocation.

While the show still isn't as good as I had hoped it would be, this episode was definitely a step in the right direction.

Jeremy Irons is a great actor, but why does it always seem like he 's playing a variation on either Klaus Von Boulow or Scar from The Lion King?
