Perfect Couples -- "Perfect Wedding" -- 4/07/11
By djariya at 2011-01-20
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Episode 11 of 13 (2 episodes will not air at this time) This is being replaced next week with the Paul Reiser Show.
**This is episode 113 in the production order, which makes this technically the season finale. Episode 104 and 106 are the ones not airing **
So to answer your question, Yes, NBC aired the episodes out of order. The sneak preview that aired last December which pretty much everyone here hated was episode 109.

at Julia's "crying face."
Well, if this is the last episode, I think they went off on a pretty funny note.

Hope the other 2 get burned off. Funny show. Won't be tuning in for Paul Reisers mess.

Was a bit disappointed with the ending, but thought it was fitting to the tone of the series. A happy ending for the couple would have been a cop-out. Favorite part: "(Beatboxing) That was fun Leigh...say goodbye to her!"

"You did it, Baby! YOU did it!"
Solid finale, shame it's the series finale, not season finale.
The cast really grew on me - they all (well, aside from munn) are equally good with their comic timing and physical comedy.

I guess I'm alone in thinking Munn is a pretty good actress. I thought she was just as sharp as the rest of the cast. If the series had continued, I got the feeling there was some pretty dark stuff bubbling up from beneath the surface with her character and her husband. They were just starting to show their dark sides in the last couple of episodes. What was great about the show was that it had varying levels of quirks for each couple, which really hinted at the point of the whole thing, which was who is to say what is "normal?" So the couple who appeared the most well adjusted was probably the most dysfunctional of all. While the couple who were constantly arguing was the pair that knew each other the best.

I don't know if she's a good actress but I think she was perfect for then character, or this character was perfect for her.
The only ones I never really "felt" were Vance and Waitress, although Vance did finally start to click with me in the last couple of episodes.

I'm not saying munn was horrible - but her delivery was always very flat. Just got a constant "dead fish" vibe from her. Maybe that was the intent for that character. I just didn't think she was as sharp as the rest of the cast.

I think that was the intent of the couple. They were "by the book" and did everything according to research, counseling, etc. They were supposed to be logical and methodical. That's why it was so great when the dark side started coming out. Theory is just that, theory. No one can do everything according to a plan. Sometimes you have to adapt to what life throws at you. I enjoyed the over the top facial expressions because you knew deep down she had to be biting the bullet. For example, when Leigh tried to butter up Vance and she made the comment "I only have one more of those left in me." Great stuff.

Just caught this episode on HULU and I'll be sad to see it go. It's gotten much better as the season, albeit a brief one, went along.
I guess we can always hold out hope that the Paul Reiser show bombs, especially since the promos make it look like a ripoff of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

For those interested, Hulu has the two unaired episodes available ("Perfect Pants" and "Perfect Daughter").

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering if the unaired episodes would ever see the light of day.

This wasn't the best show but it got better as it went along and the cast was really great. Hopefully they all eventually become regulars on shows that dont get canned.
