Ok guys, need some PS3 help.
Hi everyone. I havent played my PS3 in a week or so, went to download the Black Ops First Strike map pack, and it got to 60%, and there was a download error. First question 1) can i finish/resume/restart the download tomorrow or am i screwed?
Second question 2) My PS3 now has internet connection problems, and can get an IP address but no internet connection. Can anyone explain how to open ports/mess with the servers or whatever to keep my wireless connection stable so I can finish this sizeable download? Its a linksys wrt54g router, so any advice would help a ton. Or is there a setting I could change? Bear in mind I have done nothing yet to try and fix it, and am not sure where to start.
My laptop, phones, etc work fine on the network, its just the PS3 decided it was going to be a pain.
Please help, and thanks!

1- it will start where it left off at.
2- there has been a problem logging on to PSN try changing the DNS numbers to
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
At first it seemed like a problem for AT&T users, but it seems to have spread.
These are the Google Public DNS numbers, worked for me and I have the same router and don't do any messing with open ports.

Re: Ok guys, need some PS3 help.
You do it on your PS3. On the XMB (the main menu) go to Settings->Network Settings->Internet Connection Settings. Hit X when it tells you what you're about to do. Then when it says "Select a setting method." choose "Custom". The system will probably prefill all the next screens with the settings you already have so go through each one of them until you get to a screen that says "DNS Setting". Instead of Automatic, choose Manual. Then you will come to the screen where it will ask you for a Primary and Secondary DNS and that's where you put those numbers down (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) then you can continue on to the end and it will test the connection and see if that worked.

It was apparently hacked by Anonymous. They have some beef with Sony and shut down the network: http://vghq.net/2011/04/04/hackers-t...-goes-offline/
