Angry Boys -- new HBO series from Chris Lilley (Summer Heights High)
Just heard about this and I have to say I'm pretty excited. I loved Summer Heights High and this looks very similar. I haven't seen his first series, We Can Be Heroes, but I read that the two brothers in Angry Kids are characters that originated in that series.

I haven't been able to find much information except that there will be 12 half-hour episodes. I couldn't find a release date, but I'm guessing it will air sometime this summer.

Yeah, Summer Heights High was great and I wish Lilley would do a series on Jonah Takalua;
"Fuck you miss!"
What did you say?!
"I said puck you miss, with a p"

I loved both We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High, so I can't wait for this! Lilley is a comedic genius IMO.

Didn't really care for Summer Heights High so I doubt I care for this either. Chris Lilley is just creepy.

Summer Heights High was awesome (I still laugh at the reruns that HBO airs sometime). This should be pretty good

Summer Heights High was great! We Can Be Heroes was very good, as well, but I preferred SHH.
The preview for Angry Boys is blocked for Canada for some stupid reason. Actually, I just found it (or another one) on youtube. Looks good. Can't wait!

This is going to premiere 1/1 and will air two episodes a night. There are 8 episodes total.

I have already seen this but as a huge fan of Summer Heights High and his first series We Can Be Heroes I thought it was pretty awful. It started strong but declined fast. I am very interested to see what people post as the series progresses.

Me too. I thought the first 3 were great but then it got tired really fast - I never even bothered to finish it out at this point. I'll probably watch it when it airs on HBO but I found a lot of it to be really juvenile and not nearly as clever or entertaining as those other 2 series.

I LOVED We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High. To me, Angry Boys was just OK. There were some really bad episodes and SMouse was annoying after a while.

Anyone watching this? I thought it got off to a slow start with the first episode, but has improved with each subsequent episode from there. Just watched the fourth episode. My favorite characters are:
SMouse (though can see how he can get annoying after a while)
Nathan - nearly deaf and chronic masturbator
Tim "I'm Gay!" - the first gay Japanese skate boarder

Saw the first two episodes so far. Not sure what I was expecting, but though I thought it was interesting I found it only mildly funny at best. So by the end of episode 2 I was pretty bored and will have to get short of other things to watch before I get back to this.

I thought it was a decent series. Definitely not as good as SHH, but still watchable.
It was a good call carrying Nathan and Daniel over from We Can Be Heroes. I thought they were the two best characters, with Gran giving a close run in second.

Not enjoying this show as much as Lilley's previous efforts. It's certainly not as funny as the previous series, although it has had its moments. I don't remember the other shows being structured quite like this. I thought the previous series introduced all the characters from the start. It feels off how the show seems to be continually adding new characters. Maybe it has just been a while and I don't quite remember it. It just feels sort of disjointed because of it. Regardless, I'll see this series through to the end.
Anyone have any explanation on the difference in the number of episodes?

Sorry, what difference is that? Are they not going to show 12 episodes?

I'm really liking it so far. The only character I don't care for is Smouse. He just annoys the hell out me.
