Having not seen the film yet but just based off his previous work in general, he has style for visual which I think in some forms would work w/ Supes but.....wondering how strong WB is going get on him about it.

I saw Sucker Punch yesterday. On the whole I did not enjoy it and while I like Snyder's past work I'm hoping that this movie was just something to get all of this out of his system and that now he's ready for the next phase of his career.
I don't think I saw a single ad or preview for Wimpy Kid.

yeah...how is it that I didn't hear about the wimpy kid sequel till like 2 weeks ago? Like...nothing. Aren't kid's movies mostly advertised the fuck out of them? Yet this thing...not as much I assume..and it makes a profit.

I haven't seen any ads for Wimpy Kid either, however I would assume Fox advertised it on networks like Nick and Disney and in front of more kid friendly movies in theaters...

People always say this stuff about kids movies, but unless you're a 12 year old or a pedophile of course you aren't going to see ads for movies like this.

While I netiher watch a lot of Nickelodeon, nor fuck children, I do remember seeing a lot of ads for Percy Jackson, Despicable Me, Train Your Dragon, Karate Kid, and that Cats & Dogs sequel - all aimed at the same audience. I even saw a lot of ads for the first Wimpy Kid movie. I was just surprised I didn't see any ads at all for this sequel since the first was a modest hit and the books are so popular.

Glad to see Rango holding up.
I bet WB is wishing they had shot/converted Sucker Punch to 3D so they could have at least charged premium prices for the fewer tickets they sold and inflate their numbers. It's going to drop like a rock in the coming weeks. Hope WB takes note that Snyder is not the best man for Superman at this point.

I watch Young Justice on Cartoon Network, and I've literally seen four commercials for that Wimpy Kid film during one half-hour long show. So it seems the ads are all over these kid networks.

I've seen a ton of ads for Diary of a Wimpy Kid these last couple weeks - and every one featured that kid lip-syncing to Ke$ha.
IIRC, were all over E! (probably targeting the moms) and Comedy Central.

I thought the first wimpy kid would be entertaining but it bored me to tears. Apparently, I'm not their target audience.

I saw "Paul" today and I thought it was a pretty good film. Lots of laughs

Apparently both Limitless and Lincoln Lawyer dropped a small 20%. That's cool, surprising for Limitless though.

I wonder if those test screenings were of the one with the musical numbers or the one in theaters now? I really think the best thing to do would have been to delay its release by half a year and re-shoot most of it save the action scenes.

Re: Weekend Box Office (3/25-3/27): Wimpy Kid scores k.o. with a Sucker Punch
So...your plan would've been to have the studio spend many more millions of dollars on a movie that was DOA...? Sucker Punch was never going to be a hit.

Also, what they really needed was a total rewrite of the script.

Naw nothing could have saved the movie -- dull action sequences, lame plot, corny dialog, bad acting -- it was DoA from the start.
