Camelot premieres next week and will be delayed until July.

Torchwood will be delayed until October.

Plus, Netflix's deal with Starz expires at the end of October. If they terminate, No Spartacus for non-Starz subscribers in 2012.

Re: Netflix streaming to delay Starz content by 90 days

I think Netflix has Starz channel streaming live so it's possible to catch the shows when they air. Last time I tried that with Pillars of the Earth, the audio did not sync well with the video however. YMMV.

Guess I will just be buying on Blu when they are a decent buy. I have no plans to get Starz. I did enjoy the first 2 seasons of Spartacus every Sat morning while i could though.

Starz is a really mediocre premium channel, but I really want to see Camelot, so I guess I could subscribe for 3 months and then cancel until Spartacus season 2 premieres next year.

Re: Netflix streaming to delay Starz content by 90 days

you can get $25 rebate if you do 3 months by going to http://starzoffers.com/#
$50 if you have cox cable.

I'm too cheap so I guess I will have to wait.

No more "Grown Men" as soon as it's released? Too bad.

Is this a reliable source anyway? Would be nice if Netflix drops subs with DVD back to $8.

Deadline.com reported it yesterday, so yeah it isn't a lie.

Don't you have some previews/photos to post in the Game of Thrones thread? What are you doing here?

You mean you haven't seen Spartacus and it's prequel? That was definitely can't wait entertainment. Season 2 comes out in 2012.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Blood and Sand and it was horrible.

Re: Netflix streaming to delay Starz content by 90 days

It's understandable. I could never figure why a premium channel would give their shit away on Netflix for practically nothing. Starz is pretty cheap though, right? Or am I thinking of Encore?

That same article said that Showtime won't make current series available for streaming on Netflix either. So Netflix streaming isn't looking better and yet they want to get rid of sending DVDs in the mail eventually.

Netflix streaming is doing just fine.

Premium cable channels would be stupid to keep giving away their content to Netflix for next to nothing. A 90 day delay is appropriate. So is HBO's stance of "increase your fee to $20 per month to cover our programming or you'll never see HBO shows on Netflix." These channels aren't running a charity.

Doesn't bug me because I don't watch anything on Starz, but I can see how people would be pissed. But, Netflix is now a huge player, so this doesn't surprise me.

What does this mean, streaming live?
Is this for Starz subscribers cause I don't see an option to stream the Starz channel.

No...they're not but as a customer I'm glad Netflix has an eye on keeping prices low. We're not money trees and, as such, with the high price for most of HBO's programming aside from a required season set of CYE and a cpl stand up specials (fewer now that they've lost Lewis Black and David Cross to Epix) I pass on paying for HBO programming.

How convenient. The day the new prices go into effect, Netflix loses a great deal of content.

Camelot wasn't available for very long. It disappeared from my queue a week or two ago.
