Re: The Office -- "Garage Sale" -- 3/24/11

Kevin: "I was on Dallas. Yeah, our plane got stuck and we were on Dallas for hours. Then, we were on Hawaii and I was on heaven."

I really like Andy and Darryl as friends.

Loved Ryan using Phyllis and Oscar on the food jars.

Pam: "Holy s**t is that real?!"
Michael: "They say use three years salary..."

Michael: "No, no I am not going to be proposed to in the break room. That's not going to be our story. I should have burned this place down when I had the chance."

Jim pranking Dwight was great. It was funny watching Dwight manipulate his way into the telescope, only to turn it over for some worthless legumes. Switching out the seeds for the plants there at the end was perfect.

---

Michael: "This is one of my most favorite places in the world."
Holly: "Why?"
Michael: "Because it is where Toby announced he was leaving for Costa Rica. Happiest day of my life."

---

Loved Michael recounting all of his memories with Holly in the office.

Michael: "That guy's got more than he can handle already." (Stanley)
Michael: "Easy no." (Kevin?)
Michael: "That would be a sham marriage." (Oscar)
Michael: "That would be hot. I would pay to see that." (Angela)
Michael: "Only one I was kinda worried about." (Ryan)

Great episode. Loved the proposal, loved the sentimentality of the final scene, and it was great that all of the office got behind and supported Michael. It's been wonderful seeing Michael mature over this season, but still retain his immaturity at times. The sprinklers going off was a nice touch.

---

And there's our first glimpse of Will Ferrell as well.

(Sorry for posting so much, just a lot going on, and a lot of laughs, in this episode)

So wouldn't Dwight be more likely to plant the seeds at his farm than at the office? Of couse, then Jim wouldn't have been able to plant the the "magic legumes."

No, it was Gabe.

Really liked this episode a lot. Thought the proposal scene was fairly moving (by Office standards). That having been said, I still think the show should end with Carell leaving.

I expected Erin to yell 'I object!' at some point.

Good episode and proposal scene, which they damn-near ruined with the Yoda shit.

Pam's reaction to the ring was great

Loved Oscar telling Michael what was and wasn't acceptable for the proposal

I liked your post about the episode, but really dude? He was just pointing something out.

Back to the show...I really enjoyed this episode, lots of great moments and the proposal was well done. And on a side note I forgot about the fact that the "office" doesn't know about Michael leaving, so to see their shock was also pretty neat.

Exactly the point right? They are retards and completely meant for each other.

Kevin and his "And that's how you play Dallas!" hustle was hilarious!

What an incredibly sweet episode. It reminds of some of the heart that was lost after Jim and Pam finally got together. This was obviously way more rushed, but the proposal was absolutely fantastic and perfect.

Eh, you're right. The post just seemed like someone who doesn't watch The Office anymore coming in and looking for the littlest thing to criticize, which is why I commented on it.

+1 I have rarely cried during The Office, This was one of those magic moments where all the writing just came together. Having the entire office staff participate in and witness the whole thing was just genius.

Re: The Office -- "Garage Sale" -- 3/24/11

The proposal was touching I will admit, but I just hate Holly and the two of them as a couple. Those little voices they do go right into my spine. Is it too much to ask that on Steve Carrell's last episode that we'll get a Henry Blake-esque postscript about their plane going down en route to Colorado?

Looks like Will Ferrell will be playing the 'Will Ferrell' character that everyone's dreading.

I'm not dreading it, I'm more worried about Arnett.

Honestly, from that clip it's very hard to tell what direction they're taking Ferrell's character. While it looks like he might be playing an over-the-top man-child like he does in most of his roles, I don't think that's going to the be case. From the clip, I think they're going to have him play a really sensitive, touchy-feely sort of guy.

I could be wrong, but Ferrell has proven he can do more than his typical shtick on several occasions, so I'll reserve judgment until he actually appears on the show.

This. Unlike Ferrell, Arnett has never done anything to prove he is more than a one-trick pony.

I assure you that I have watched every episode of The Office from the beginning. It may have been nitpicking, but it seemed seemed to unrealistic to me that Dwight has a whole farm but wouldn't plant his magic beans there. I know that many things on this show push the bounds of reality (like the documentary aspect).

I have to add myself to the camp that doesn't like Michael and Holly together.

Also, we need more Creed. At least give him one line a week. I don't think he spoke in this one.
