Wanderlust (Wain, 2011): new comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston

Wanderlust is an upcoming comedy film directed by David Wain, starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, as a married couple who try to escape modern society by leaving their cushy lives in New York.

After an urban couple purchases a place in New York, the husband loses his job. With no other options, the couple leaves for Georgia to live with family. Along the way, they stay at a bed and breakfast that turns out to be a nudist commune.

-----------------

What do you guys think? This is one of my most anticipated 2011 releases. David Wain can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes as I've greatly enjoyed all of his previous work, with Wet Hot American Summer being my absolute favorite comedy movie ever.

....Paul Rudd's name got my attention. Aniston is not funny. She's a mediocre actress too. She's pretty but she's mediocre and she lacks comedy talent.

David Wain and Paul Rudd almost cancel out Jennifer Aniston.

Anuston is absolute buzzkill in every half-decent movie she's in... which I think is only one (Office Space), and she was deadweight in that one too.

I'll see it for Wain and Rudd. Should have been Elizabeth Banks instead of Aniston, though.

so fucking true.

Hell...I'd even nominate her for Lois Lane too. I fucking loved her small role as Betty Brant. She has that damn smile that kills.

I'm sure all the nudity in this will be "Austin Powers" style, where all the good parts are "conveniently" blocked by some random object. In other words, the nudist colony sequence of A Shot in the Dark exploded out to feature length.

They starred together in The Object of My Affection in 1998. It sucked.

I'm sure this will suck too.

David Wain had no part in The Object of My Affection. Yes, it matters.

Aniston is the common denominator. So it'll probably suck.

Aniston needs to stay on TV. She has talent and with the right show she'd be a superstar all over again and leave the movie roles to actresses that are so much better.

Re: Wanderlust (Wain, 2011): new comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston

Aniston kind of reminds me of Demi Moore in the 90s. Moore was one of the highest paid actresses at the time, but she really didn't have any box office success of her own at ALL. She just happened to co-star in a string of blockbusters whose success really didn't have anything to do with her. And when she headlined, she bombed (Striptease, Scarlet Letter, GI Jane, Mortal Thoughts, The Butcher's Wife, etc.)

Aniston has been in a few blockbusters, but not as a headliner. "Bruce Almighty"? Jim Carrey. "Just Go With It"? Adam Sandler. "Marley & Me"? Blockbuster book endorsed by Oprah Housewife Sheeple. And then bomb after bomb with her name over title.

Oh wait, "The Break Up"... I'll give her that one. You could argue Vince Vaughn, but I got enough aggravation today.

I haven't seen any of Wain's films. I really like Paul Rudd, but I absolutely despise Jennifer Aniston. I think that puts this in the "Maybe I'll watch it on Netflix some day" category for me.

You should have left Aniston's name out of the title, since that's all anybody is focusing on.

Jennifer Aniston is in this movie, this is not a Jennifer Aniston movie.

See what I mean?

Paul Rudd has been in all of David Wain's films and most of his tv series/web series, so this statement is just silly.

Doesn't matter, being in a movie with Jennifer Aniston = just no

Haha, probably would have been a good idea. I suppose I could have put Malin Akerman instead of Aniston in the title, but I'm not what the consensus on her is around here.

It's budget was $80 million. Maybe not a blockbuster, but close.

You should check out Office Space sometime. Hilarious movie.

FYI, Paul Rudd was on Friends.

I haven't seen a full 5 mins of the show...but I don't know if even Rudd had the power to make that enjoyable
