American Idol, Top 12. March 16/17. Songs from the year they were born.
Wednesday, 8/7c: Performance show, 2 hours. Theme is “song from the year they were born”
Thursday, 8/7c: Results show, 1 hour. The Black Eyed Peas and Lee DeWyze will perform.
In other news, both J. Lopez and Aerosmith will perform on American Idol at some point this year.
And Casey’s medical issue is “ulcerative colitis”, he was away from the results show because of a blood transfusion.
As far as song spoilers go… there are none this week. Live audiences were not allowed during rehearsals for the first time, so the song spoiler source was cut off.

Great inclusion of Casey in the new contestant photo.
Again as I said last week, what happened to the promised 30 minute results show? Now we're back to the 1 hour fluff filled shows again.

I noticed on the DVR description of the results show that Lee DeWyze is rescheduled to perform. If that doesn't argue to the value of the 1-hour results show, I don't know what can Though it would be hilarious if they bumped him for time again.

Paul McDonald is shit on top of shit on top of more shit. I can't imagine anyone actually believing this guy has even an ounce of talent.

Casey gave one of the most horrible, indulgent performances in American Idol history in my opinion. Out of tune, out of place and utterly horrible. Casey is cocky as hell from being licked by the judges.

I tuned in just to watch the Nirvana performance. Good lord that was like a drunken frat kid you'd see on youtube.

I was joking with my friend when i saw Casey was born in 91 that he would do Nirvana I actually give him credit and it wasn't worse than a lot of Kurt's performances of the song.
Paul was my favorite of the night.
Bottom three for me:
Niama
Haley
Jacob (why the judges love him so much is beyond me)

Really really really would have loved to have had Simon on this show tonight...
So many boring performances mixed in with so many indulgent performances...I would loved to have seem him let loose on the bunch of them.
That said, Stephano was the best for me tonight.

Just about everybody sucked. Judges should be ashamed for not calling this group on their lousy performances.

I really don't understand why people like Jacob Lusk.
My favorites were Lauren Alaina and Pia Toscano, though I really liked Casey Abram's performance in a Taylor Hicks sort of way.
Anyway... a girl will be going home again this week. The bottom three will be:
Karen Rodriguez
Haley Reinhart
Thia Megia
Karen Rodriguez will go home. I like her, but she's tackled big songs twice in a row and hasn't done well with them. Plus there's that look of pure desperation on her face.
And I'm sticking with my season prediction from a couple of weeks ago. Lauren Alaina will win this year, Scott McCreery will come in second, and Pia Toscano in third.

I thought we had some singers this season, but they were mostly awful tonight.
Stephano sounded good, but that's not my style. Scotty sounds fine, but it just looks too goofy coming out of him. He seems more like a Rich Little act than a singer at this point.

This CD was released yesterday. It has a song from the 9 winners, plus a few notable non-winners.
http://www.amazon.com/American-Idol-...0332021&sr=8-4
1. Kelly Clarkson - “Since U Been Gone”
2. Ruben Studdard - “Superstar”
3. Clay Aiken - “Invisible”
4. Fantasia – “When I See U”
5. Carrie Underwood – “Before He Cheats”
6. Taylor Hicks – “Takin’ It To The Streets”
7. Daughtry – “Home”
8. Jordin Sparks (duet with Chris Brown) – “No Air”
9. David Cook – “Light On”
10. Kris Allen – “Live Like We’re Dying”
11. Adam Lambert – “Whataya Want From Me”
12. Lee DeWyze – “Sweet Serendipity”
Speaking of past winners, I saw a video on the Country Music Channel, it was a duet with some guy and Kelly Clarkson. That girl has a very powerful voice.
Found it:

I missed Naima but McDonald was pretty bad. I was disappointed in Thia too. Boring version of a beautiful V. Williams song. Hayley (who was covered in lipstick lol) was bad and Durbin wasn't much better. Stefano was boring too. Still don't get why the judges like him so much. Pia was OK.

Naima - that was pretty terrible.
Paul - how many shots of liquor does he down before going on stage? Horrible.
Thia - sounded much more older than she usually does, sort of weird. Not quite sure if I liked the different arrangement, too, the melody got lost.
James - Besides dragging the mic stand around initially, he did his thang, though not my favorite Bon Jovi song. Needs a little more bass in his voice.
Haley - sung under the key for early part of the song, and it sounded weak overall. Not good.
Stefano - maybe a little too melodramatic, but sang to his strengths.
Pia - her on-stage performance personality bores me, never quite knows how to sell the song. Didn't quite land her big notes, too screetchy.
Scotty - He's consistently solid. Too bad he looks weird when he performs with that head-cock to his right.
Karen - sounded thin, without much new (besides the bi-lingual touch), didn't make me miss the original.
Casey - sounded like karaoke grunge to me, not authentic at all.
Lauren - sounded like she was behind the beat at times, but maybe she's been on medication, so anything could cause such anomalies. But, still, sounded better than most of tonight's performances.
Jacob - I wish he had quiet confidence, instead, he comes in with this manic desperation quality to his performance that undermine his vocals and it could have been better with more control, and less histrionics. I'd like to have heard Lauren sing Jacon's song selection this week.

I wasn't wowed by any of the performances. I thought Stefano was the best, but just barely, and he has a lot of catching up to do.
Overall, not just tonight's performances, I have Haley going home, Karen just a hair behind then a virtual tie between Paul , Thia, and Naima....Stefano bought himself a week out of the bottom three with that performance. I still have Casey and Pia in the lead.

I think the bottom 3 are: Karen, Naima and Haley
Top 3 are: Pia, Casey and James
James is still my favorite only because I love rock music and that's what he brings to the table.
I love Pia, she's smoking hot but damn, Helen Keller could have found her a better outfit.

Heat, that's a really nice song. I'd never heard it before. That girl just flat-out has talent.
When you see "it" you know it. Clarkson, Underwood, Daughtry. I thought David Cook was a couple of notches below these guys, but am surprised he hasn't done more than he has.

It sounded to me like Steven Tyler has run out of comments. Sometimes he would only say a one sentence comment. My bottom three is Naima, Haley, and Karen with Naima going home.

Finishing off, Scotty was pretty good. Still, I can't help thinking of Josh Turner every time he sings. Karen just showed how good a singer Taylor Dayne is. What was up with the Judy Jetson outfit and the beehive. Casey was OK but I never cared for Nirvana anyway. Lauren and Jacob were just forgettable--not terrible, just forgettable.
Another boring week overall.
