Re: Torchlight
I played it on PC when it first came out in 2009. It is a good Diablo clone, probably one of the better ones. If you don't like Diablo though, you certainly won't like Torchlight.

Yeah, it's pretty fun Diablo clone. Single player only. Torchlight 2 is supposed to come out in a couple months, and it'll have multiplayer.

I played the PC version and this is a very good port. There are three classes and the demo let's you play all three. Coop multiplayer would have been nice but otherwise it's a very good hack n slash RPG.

Re: Torchlight
I played through and reviewed (link in signature) the XBLA version. It was the first time I'd played the game (although I'd watched a friend play it a bit on Mac.) I'd also never really played this type of game before. But I really liked it. It's a really good game, though it has a couple of issues (framerate mainly.)

Re: Torchlight
Even though I have this on PC, I almost bought it on again XBLA. Then I decided I can wait until July for Torchlight 2 and everything that has to offer (including coop).

I picked it up...to hold me over this weekend until Crysis 2...I picked it up on steam a while back when it was 5 bucks, but never played it much...
It is a lot of fun...just a bit of a let down after Dragon Age 2...

Wish Runic would put out a PC patch so you could play with a game pad. I liked that set-up, but not enough to re-buy the game.

Re: Torchlight
Well, it took another year, but Torchlight 2 will be out this summer, I think. Steam is doing a pre-order deal where you get a free copy of Torchlight with pre-order of the $20 sequel. They are also doing a 4-pack for $60. Are there three folks here interested in going in on a four pack. I hate paying full price for a Steam game, but getting this at launch for $15 seems good enough for me.

I downloaded Torchlight a few weeks ago when it was 600 pts. I haven't dug into it yet, come to think of it there is a dozen of Live Arcade games i haven't dug into. LOL.

Re: Torchlight
Yes, it is a clone. Diablo 3 is not going to be as cutesy cartoony as Torchlight is, but it's pretty much the same click to attack model with random loot.

Re: Torchlight
Just preordered Torchlight 2 last night on Steam. Anyone else gonna pick it up? You get the original Torchlight for free immediately when you preorder. I have Torchlight xbla version, but have hardly touched it. I like the PC version alot better. Graphics are prettier and these types of games work a lot better with a mouse. I can't seem to find anywhere that confirms it 100% but TL2 will have between 4 and 6 player co-op. After getting sick of Diablo 3, I am really wanting this game to be good. I am playing Path of Exile which I love, but with it being just a beta I am sure it won't take me to long to complete it. Also I don't want to spend too much time leveling due to the character getting wiped once the full game is released.
TL2 has no definite release, the devs are adamant that it will be this summer though. Summer lasts until like 9/23/12 doesn't it?

I have it preordered as well. I played the heck out of the first one on XBLA but will probably give it a whirl on the PC now too, especially as POE has got me back in the mood for this kind of game.

Obligatory Penny Arcade complaint: Is the joke there that the dog negotiates a fair price, and then the merchant short-changes him (but he doesn't know because he's a dog), or is the joke that the dog is scamming his master? I seriously can't figure out which of those two they're going for here.
