The Cape -- Series Finale -- "Endgame" -- 3/11/11 (Online Only)
By djariya at 2011-01-09
Episode 10 of 10
Just to clarify the show hasn't "Officially" been cancelled, but shutting down production after episode 10 when you planned to shoot 13 means the show is dead.
TV Guide has a Preview and an Episode description:

If anyone cares (which most of you probably don't) the series finale will be posted tonight at Midnight on NBC.com and Hulu.com

I never watched an episode. I assume 10 of 13 didn't tie up any story lines either due to the short schedule (assuming 13 of 13 would have anyway)?

Honestly, I have no idea if they were able to resolve anything. My co-worker has a friend who worked on the show and said they got a call from NBC to shut it down after they wrapped episode 10. I'm surprised you didn't watch this since you seem to be really into the super hero genre.

I still have last weeks two hour episode(s?) sitting on the Tivo. I was sort of geting into this show, but the Lich episodes just didnt work for me. I dont really have a desire to sit down and watch the twho hour ep, nor do I really want to go hunt for the finale online. Its a shame, because this show could have been really good. I really liked some of the minor characters, but didnt really care for any of the major characters unfortunately.
Is the finale truly going to be an online only thing or is NBC gonna burn it off on a Saturday or something?

Never even gave it a shot. They scheduled it in a way that was assured to kill it. It may not have been the schedule that did kill it but it was DOA either way.

Monday's in general have been a tough day for NBC. Chuck, which gets the geek following, is probably the most popular show that night and it barely gets over 5M viewers. If you watched the premiere and liked it, you probably would have followed it. I don't see how the scheduling played any part in it. Most in this forum don't watch their shows live anyways, so it was just a matter of setting a season record.

Scheduling 8 episodes and then making the last 5 TBA is a big FU to anybody that planned on watching the show.
For any NBC show it's pretty much a sure sign that it's a one and done if it's lucky.

They did that because of scheduling requirements. The show took "The Event" spot and the last 5 were not TBA but were just going to be aired somewhere else. I'm sure if the show had been successful they would have aired all 13 and moved "The Event"

Any chance that NBC puts this up on Comcast on demand? Sorry, I'm not sure if they put their other shows up there...

I really liked this series. It was one of those dark horse picks like Journeyman. Lots of style, great direction.

Well, we're over 400+ lurker views, but noone has actually commented on how the show ended.

And so it ends...
It's ridiculous that neither his wife or best friend could recognize The Cape from 3 feet away. Only half his face was covered, and he didn't try to disguise his voice.
That being said, I liked this episode and will miss the show. I have a feeling serialized dramas are dead on network TV.

I watched the first 3 episodes and then let the rest build on the dvr cause I didn't have the time to watch it yet. Now I'm deciding whether or not I should bother >

I would like to thank NBC for trying to give us something other than the standard that America seems to eat up. Looks like they are trying again next season with the show from the guy that did BSG. As long as they keep trying I will keep tuning in.

I was intrigued by the previews but never got around to watching the show. I usually go to bed early on Mondays. My daughter kept telling me how great it was. She loves Sci-Fi, Fantasy shows and was really into it. I hope they keep trying scripted shows I have an active disdain for reality TV. It's too bad I get up so early I don't get much of a chance to see 1 hour shows that start at 9:00

Which is a shame since it was actually one of the better episodes of the show.
Of course, it was hilarious to see that the hoodie is the only thing that keeps people from figuring out who the Cape really is. The mask is totally useless.
