Kinda boring but at least they keep bringing the boobs. At this point there's been like twice the nudity of seasons 1-3 combined. Not that I'm complaning

It's probably easier to type "nekkid girl in Runkle's bed, furiously twittering her va-jay-jay." than it is to type out more dialogue.

Man. Just, wow. I don't think I've ever seen a drop in quality in a show as dramatic as the one Californication has taken this season. Did they bring in all new writers? Even the cinematography looks very different than the previous seasons. It used to have kind of a warm glow to it, but now it looks more like Law and Order or C.S.I.
What on earth have they done to one of my favorite shows?? Really, I'm in 'til the end because I've come this far, but I'm really not enjoying this season at all. What happened to Hank's literary self-righteousness? His misguided but well-intentioned playfulness? I mean, this is almost like not even the same character at all anymore.

Runkle banging Peggy was definitely the highlight. Loved her little incest/black slave fantasies. I love what a freak she is. I'm glad they didn't expose us to him and that fat secretary from a week or so ago.
That is just so stupid how Marcy is letting Stu think he's the father of her baby.
I know Hank is an asshole, but it's really getting to the point now where I would like to see some stability relationship-wise with him and the women. Does he want to get back together with Karen or not? I'd rather have him break up with her for good and not lead viewers on with this will they or won't they? thing. It's really fun seeing him bang all these gorgeous women like Carla Gugino and Callie Thorne, but everytime he does it, guilt somehow sets in and it's back to Karen once again.

Guilt should set in. The basic premise is that he's a sex addict, and thus prone to cheating. The traditional thing to say would be, "He must not love Karen or he wouldn't treat her that way." I say he loves Karen as much as he loves anyone -- including himself. Karen and Beka see the good in him, which is why it's difficult for them to give up on him (especially Becka as his daughter). The struggle is how do you maintain a relationship with someone who will always let you down if your expectations of him don't align with the reality of him?
Hank knows he's a screwup. He wants to treat the people he loves well. He just doesn't. And he feels bad about it. But he seemingly doesn't have what it takes to stop it. Therein lies the tragedy. As empty as his life is now, without Becka and Karen, how does it look. One (including Hank) shudders to think.

I saw the preview for next week (normally I avoid those, but for this show - I really don't care) and even in court Hank can't take anything seriously. A chance of being convicted of statutory rape and going to prison for 20 years and he still can't act like a serious and concerned adult? Why is Karen even living in the same city as this idiot, nevermind having any kind of relationship with him?
